Going to try and keep this short and to the point:
After the fire are we going to continue on with the program and Rescue?
- We were on the fence leaning to he's, but it still was not definite. Then we watched our volunteer crew, Laura, Gilbert, Gina, Justuce, Kiara, Kat and even Justin (returning after a personal hiatus and picking up like he never left) just absolutely step up and do what they enjoy while they show what this organization is all about. Thrn we had some visitors that have found the hobby by visiting us at Knott's and the Lobster and BBQ Festival's. Once you see that, you just know you're making a difference and it makes you feel good.
Can you recover financially?
- Does anyone ever really recover from a disaster? No, but we will do wjat we always do and scratch our way back. Thank you to everyone that stopped by the booth in Costa Mesa and dropped something in the donation box!
Did you lose animals?
- Yes, and there will never be a recovery from what was lost. Many of our ambassador animals and many in rehab.
Are we ok?
- Yes, still shaken and some anxiety when leaving, but we're safe. Fortunately, the damage was isolated to storage sheds, cages and the yard.
We'd like to thank Jesus of 805 Ball Pythons , Vicki and Rachel of Reptile Den and The Reptile Shop for offering to assist us with rebuilding the animal ambassador program. When we have the finances to rebuild we will be in touch! If you would like to help, you can donate using the PayPal or Venmo. Thank you
