Veterinary Efforts in Giving to Animals (VETEGA Inc.), a non-profit organization founded in 2005 in the Lamoille region, has been formed to collect and administer funds for stray and injured animals in need of veterinary care. The VETEGA general fund provides grants to veterinarians so they can provide medical and/or surgical services for ownerless animals or injured or ill animals whose owners ca

n’t afford all or part of treatment. VETEGA help has been as minimal as providing vaccines for a stray cat to helping to treat cats with urinary obstruction, dogs with lacerations, animals with infections, etc. VETEGA provides grants up to $500 per patient - while this is not always enough to cover all costs, this allows us to keep our fund going and helping as many animals as possible. VETEGA strives to make a direct impact on our community by limiting grants to Lamoille County pets and partnering with organizations like the Clarina Howards Nichols center and Lamoille Valley Veterinary Services, who provide services to adoptable patients at a discounted rate and match a portion of all grants for their care.

Available for adoption!
Meet Sylvie! She is an 11 week old female, black and white kitten.
Sylvie was found as an injured stray kitten with her left front leg caught in some string, in an abandoned house and she was relinquished to VETEGA.
When Sylvie first came in her left front leg was non-functional, X-rays were done and the leg was not broken, amputation was considered but we wanted to give her leg time to see if it would recover. Sylvie’s leg has been splinted, she has been receiving acupuncture over the last few weeks and the good news is: She does not need her leg amputated! Sylvie’s leg has recovered well! (That being said, this does not mean that this leg is healed/fine or that she may not have issues in the future like arthritis or pain in this leg. On-going acupuncture appointments could be considered in the future.)
Sylvie loves attention, her purr motor starts immediately, she is a fun-loving kitten who likes to play and would be an exciting addition to any home.
Sylvie has had her first two FVRCP vaccines (cat distemper) and a Rabies vaccine. Sylvie will still need to be spayed by her adopter when she is 5-6 months old.

For more information please ask any LVVS employee.
If interested in adopting Sylvie, please fill out an adoption application.

UPDATE: Elsa has been adopted and found her forever home!

Available for adoption!
Elsa was relinquished to VETEGA due to the owner’s financial living situation changing. She is a 2 year old, spayed female torbie cat. She is gorgeous with red & black modeling and tiger stripes.
Elsa was named after a famous lioness from the book/movie “Born free.” She has a curious adventurous nature, is an avid hunter in warmer months and likes to ride on shoulders. She also likes to be pulled around "for rides" on a towel.
She is a drooling, purring, lover of attention, she likes using her scratchy pads, is good with other cats, friendly dogs and was socialized with a horse in her previous home. Elsa has never been around kids.

If you think Elsa would be a good addition to your home, please ask any LVVS employee for more information or an Adoption Application. 802-888-7911 www.lvvsonline.com

Timmy, Polly, and Sophie are still looking for a Foster or forever home. (Listed in order from left to right.)
These three chihuahuas were relinquished to VETEGA after their owner was no longer able to care for them. They have been treated for a severe flea infestations and they are doing well considering their ages.
Timmy is 20 years old, is on a special diet and takes arthritis medication.
Polly is 15 years old, has recently had a dental cleaning, and is on arthritis medication. Sophie is 12 years old and still needs spay surgery and a dental cleaning.
We are looking for a quieter retirement home where the 3 of them to stay together. Although collectively they may not have many years left, they have a lot of life to live in the time they have left.
If you are interested in adopting these three, please call us at 802-888-7911

Meet Sylvie our newest rescue. Sylvie is approximately 7 weeks old and was found as a stray with an injured left front leg. We are giving her time to recover but she may need surgery to have this leg amputated.
(She will not be available for adoption until the leg issue is resolved.)
Dr Sara Brennan has been doing accupuncture on the leg.
This video shows how grateful Sylvie is happy to have a warm bed and a full belly during her recovery.

WOW! Thank you to Pet Food Warehouse and everyone who supported Wag-IT-Forward this year!

Dear WIF Participant,
We’re thrilled to share that this year’s Wag It Forward fundraiser was a huge success. Together we raised $23,680 to support local animal welfare organizations! Thanks to your help promoting the event, we were able to reach more people than ever before.
With 32 participating organizations, each group will receive $740 to support the important work being done for animals in our community.
We’d love to hear your feedback or suggestions to make next year’s event even better — please feel free to email me anytime.
Thank you again for being such an important part of this success!
With appreciation,
