Veterinary Efforts in Giving to Animals (VETEGA Inc.), a non-profit organization founded in 2005 in the Lamoille region, has been formed to collect and administer funds for stray and injured animals in need of veterinary care. The VETEGA general fund provides grants to veterinarians so they can provide medical and/or surgical services for ownerless animals or injured or ill animals whose owners ca

n’t afford all or part of treatment. VETEGA help has been as minimal as providing vaccines for a stray cat to helping to treat cats with urinary obstruction, dogs with lacerations, animals with infections, etc. VETEGA provides grants up to $500 per patient - while this is not always enough to cover all costs, this allows us to keep our fund going and helping as many animals as possible. VETEGA strives to make a direct impact on our community by limiting grants to Lamoille County pets and partnering with organizations like the Clarina Howards Nichols center and Lamoille Valley Veterinary Services, who provide services to adoptable patients at a discounted rate and match a portion of all grants for their care.

$10 per ticket - Enter to win a Dog DNA test by Royal Canin.

Do you want to know what breed your dog is?
Do you want to know if he/she is predisposed to any health concerns?

A ROYAL CANIN® Genetic Health Analysis™ will:
Determine the breeds that make up your dog, comparing your dog’s DNA to the unique genetic signatures of more than 365 dog breeds with your dog’s breed mix reported down to 1%.
Help create a proactive plan for your dog’s health care with more than 265 health conditions including MDR1 for drug sensitivity, as well as, over 50 trait variants, some of which may have health consequences.
Predict your dog’s likely adult weight and size, providing a benchmark you can use to ensure your dog stays at a healthy weight and develop a tailored nutritional plan with your veterinarian.
The science is complex, but the process is simple
Your veterinarian collects a small, painless DNA cheek swab sample. Your veterinarian activates the kit online and mails the sample to the lab. The sample arrives at our lab, where it is processed and analyzed.
After 3-4 weeks, a report is sent to your veterinarian and to you. Meet with your veterinarian to discuss the breed ancestry, how it may impact training and behaviors, and decide together on a health and nutrition plan for your dog.

Meet "Corn Beef". He is a rags to riches story. He was found by a good Samaritan 1 month ago. He was emaciated, cold, dirty and had severe stomatitis (inflammation of the mouth). He started with us at 4.7lb and he is now up to 7lb. Thanks to VETEGA and the Mona Pants Foundation, we were able to do full bloodwork and dental treatment which required numerous extractions. He is healing well. He still has a ways to go but he is ready to go to a forever home. He is very calm and just wants to be loved. Stop by LVVS to meet him and/or spread the word to any potential adopters. Neutered male and assumed to be a senior cat but can't really tell. We have microchipped him and he's gotten his first vaccines. He will need a booster ~5/6.

UPDATE: Frosty has found her forever home.

Frosty is up for adoption!
Age: 14W (DOB approximately 11/13/25)
S*x: Female
Color: Buff Tabby
Breed: Domestic short hair
Species: Feline

Frosty was found in a barn January 5th covered in black stuff (suspected to be frostbite.) When she was examined by one of our veterinarians it was determined to be built up nasal discharge from an upper respiratory virus and not frostbite (YAY!) Frosty was emaciated, had very dirty ears and was infected with fleas.
Frosty has been tested and found to be negative for FELV, FIV and Heartworm disease. Frosty has been dewormed and put on a monthly parasiticide (treated with pyrantel, centragard and Revolution.) Frosty has been vaccinated for Rabies and Feline distemper (Fvrcp,) she has been treated with antibiotics for the upper respiratory infection, with her ongoing upper respiratory symptoms we also did an Upper Respiratory PCR test which showed Bordetella and mycoplasma infection, she has been treated for these infections also. She is not considered to be infectious to other cats.
Adoption fee: $150
Frosty is a happy, playful, spicy kitten, who loves to purr and play. She is still having some nasal discharge and may have some long-term upper respiratory issues such as a snotty nose or congested breathing but we feel she is stable and healthy enough to find her new forever home. (Not recommended for homes with pet birds. She LOVES her bird toy)

Update: Lynx has found his forever family.

Look at this gorgeous 2-3 year old Siamese mix cat!
Lynx did not get his Christmas wish of finding his forever home, so he is speaking up (2nd picture) to say, “HELLO! I’m still here, Do you have room in your life for me? I will be your blue eyed lover for life ❤️”
Lynx is a friendly guy who would prefer a home with no other cats, He maybe ok with a cat savy dog. He is vaccinated, neutered and other than a few broke teeth, he is a healthy fella! A good deal for the $100 adoption fee!

If interested in adopting Lynx or meeting him please visit www.LVVSonline.com and fill out an adoption application
