I just have to take a moment to applaud 👏 one of the hardest-working people at Lake City Humane Society…our Animal Control Officer, Officer Vazquez.

The Animal Control phone never seems to stop ringing, and Officer Vazquez never seems to stop moving. From responding to calls, investigating concerns, reuniting lost pets with their families, assisting animals in need, and handling emergencies, she does it all with compassion, professionalism, and a heart for both animals and people.

Many of the things she does happen behind the scenes and often go unnoticed, but her dedication makes a difference every single day. Whether she’s out in the heat, the rain, or after hours answering a call for help, she shows up with the same commitment and determination.

Officer Vazquez doesn’t just do a job…she serves our community. Her kindness, patience, and unwavering work ethic help make Lake City a better place for both animals and the people who love them.

Please join me in thanking Officer Vazquez for all she does. We see you. We appreciate you. And we are grateful for the difference you make every single day.

Ice, Ice Baby…Meet Ice ❄️

Don’t let the name fool you…there’s nothing cold about this sweetheart’s heart. Ice is a gentle, loving pup who is ready to trade his kennel for a cozy couch and a family to call his own.
Whether he’s soaking up attention, enjoying a stroll, or simply sitting by your side, Ice has a way of making every moment a little brighter. His soulful eyes seem to say, “Will you be my person?”

Like so many wonderful dogs at Lake City Humane Society, Ice is patiently waiting for his “Second Chance” He has so much love to give and is dreaming of the day he walks out our doors and into a forever home.

He made a special visit to the adoption office today, and despite the room being full of activity…including Scruffy the cat…he couldn’t have cared less!

While people came and went and the office buzzed with excitement, Ice sat quietly, taking it all in and enjoying every minute of it. Nothing seemed to ruffle his feathers. His calm, easygoing personality was on full display as he happily observed the world around him.

Dogs like Ice are truly something special. Confident, relaxed, and content wherever they are, he showed us today just how wonderful a companion he would be for a lucky family.

Now all Ice needs is a forever home to call his own. ❤️🐾

A round of applause for these babies who found their fur-ever happy homes.
Triple the LOVE! Tug, Bean, and Wynona all adopted to this amazing family who came for a visit… fell head over paws and everyone left with a cuddly puppy. Tug, Wynona…and Thelma now known as Bean are off to endless adventures and love beyond measure.
