Art was her first love. Just like she did with me.

If you’re going to trust her with your pet, you should probably know a little bit about my Mommy. She has a Bachelor’s of Art in Graphic Design, Film, and Video from Columbia College in Chicago. Xabi worked as a successful graphic designer for 15 years, living a vibrant life in the city of Chicago. In 2009, she got married, moved to Germany and put her graphic design career on hold. Unfortunately,

things in Germany didn’t exactly work out, and a year later, she found herself back in Chicago going through a tough time emotionally. The one thing in her life that gave her comfort during this transition was me =) My name is Sammie, an affectionate, protective, and playful Maltese. Not to brag, but what can I say, I’m perfect! Xabi began volunteering at a veterinarian’s office, gaining exposure to a variety of pets. The healing she experienced from interacting with other pets as well, opened her up to exploring the human connection with animals. Through these experiences, she discovered her second passion in life, caring for animals! Therefore, my mother decided to pursue this passion further. From 2011-2016 she worked full time as a Vet Tech, at this same office. My mother started her own pet-sitting, walking, and basic training business, because she has found it’s the best, and most direct way she can care for other animals. She named her business Sammie’s Cuddle Care in honor of Me. My mommy is passionate about what she does, and your pet will always receive her full attention, and the highest quality care. In every interaction, your pet will receive love, attention, and of course, lots of cuddles, just as she did with me.

In loving memory of Sammie, my dear dog who sparked the dream behind Sammie’s Cuddle Care. Sammie wasn’t just a pet; he was my teacher of loyalty, joy, and the healing power of a gentle cuddle. Sammie’s Cuddle Care is my way of keeping his memory alive and sharing the comfort he inspired.

Sammie’s impact lives on every time I work with dogs:

- His boundless warmth and instinct to be near those who need a friend
- The small, quiet moments that show how a simple cuddle can change a day
- The way he read emotions and offered unconditional companionship
- The patience he showed when learning new things, even on challenging days
- The joy and energy he brought to every walk, every play session, every nap
