Crawford is totally blind now and so I decided to place his breakfast bowl in front of him while he was playing on the floor of his cage. He discovered it and ate to his heart’s content. Ever so daintily.

Does anyone else have the compulsion to preen the little burgeoning pin feathers that pop up during a molt? It’s like I’m addicted to this pastime. It’s probably a good reason to have two birds as cage companions. It’s an ongoing job and they’re much better at it than I am!

This is Honey. His head was covered with pin feathers and he looked very uncomfortable. I wrapped him up like a burrito and proceeded to massage the keratin off those quills. He resisted but now he’s a lot happier! The price of beauty!
