In a shocking turn of events, Floodplain Fruits is flooding.

The pawpaws are starting to flower although it will still be a bit longer till full bloom and sweet smell of rotting meat fills the air. Hurray to fruit trees pollinated by by flies and beetles!

In Northwest Indiana the apricot trees are starting their bloom! It's still over a month till the 90th percentile frost free date, but the 10 day forecast looks good, so keeping fingers crossed for a good apricot crop this year.

The Asian pears are doing well this year and the birds are making use of the uncut brush that remains.

After portions of the orchard were bush hogged the deer have taken advantage of the easy access to the peach trees.

We received in 200 pawpaws bare root from the Indiana State nursery. Luckily, we had a fine Indiana weekend for planting them: 55 and sunny on Saturday followed by 9 inches of snow on Sunday.
