Saying hello to everyone with a couple Curtis-grams now that this good boy has turned eight (on Dec. 3)!

Curtis was career-changed and did not progress as a working Leader Dog because of his elbow dysplasia. He has recently had some additional problems with elbow dysplasia, so he has been going to doggie water therapy through Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, which he LOVES! If you knew Curtis, you know how much he loves anything to do with water—swimming, splashing his water bowl, or getting sprayed with the hose!

His family loves him so much and continues to take the best care of him. ☺️

A little update from Curtis’ family yesterday! Unfortunately, he had a surprise trip to the vet yesterday.

He played so hard with their neighbors’ new black lab puppy that he ripped his dew claw (that extra nail on the upper, inner part of a dog’s foot). It was really bothering him, so the vet removed it and said another would probably grow into the same spot.

Just like Curtis to get injured from playing too hard! Some things never change!

Two years ago during Curtis' puppyhood, a Beloit College student impersonated him for an event in which students dress up like other people (or dogs!) on campus. Imitation is the best form of flattery, and Curtis was loved so hard at Beloit College!
