I also wanted to let everyone know that our hospital kitty, Lil, passed away in early December due to an aggressive form of abdominal and liver cancer. She died 3 weeks from the first day she didn't eat her full meal - and she was a real chow hound! She just went so fast. I had taken her to Oakwood Hills Animal Hospital for an ultrasound with Dr. Kissner, and she confirmed what I suspected shortly after Lil became sick. Her liver had many tumors in it already at that time. Thankfully she continued to eat for me up to the evening of her passing, so I am grateful for that. She slept quite a bit but was always up for some petting and attention, and never appeared to be in any pain. I have missed her "help" unpacking boxes, sharing my lunches with her, and her constant massages (she loved to "knead biscuits" when you were petting her). I just wanted to let those of you who knew her know why she hasn't been greeting you lately. I had to wait awhile to write this as it was too painful initially.

Hi everyone. I wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, and to thank you for supporting our business, Ladyvet Animal Hospital, for the past 28 years. All good things must come to a close, and I have been caring for animals as a veterinarian for 45 1/2 years, and I feel the need to step back now at the end of this month . The office will continue to be open through December 2026 most Mondays and Fridays, and we will continue to dispense medications , food, and records on those days but Dr. Vicki will not be seeing patients anymore. There is no rush to obtain records as we will continue to be around - once you determine your new veterinarian just let us know and we can send records. I can continue to do medication refills and food dispensing for another year. Again, it has been an honor to be a part of your families during this time - greeting pets that come into your families and being there to watch over them at the end of their journeys.

Our holiday hours - we will be open Friday Dec 26th and then Monday and Tuesday of the following week (Dec 29 and Dec 30th).

Hi everyone. Just a heads up that the office will be closing from June 28th through July 13th so that Dr. Vicki can visit her Dad in Detroit, MI. Please place food and medicine orders by June 20th so we can be sure to have them for you before closing. Emergencies will be referred to Oakwood Hills Animal Hospital (715-835-0112) and Allied Emergency Vet Service (715-529-5900) both in Eau Claire, WI. Thanks very much for your understanding. The Veterinary Medical Association recently had a meeting at the Milwaukee Zoo, and I had a few minutes between lectures to explore the zoo. The weather was great and I learned some and had a great time. I really enjoyed the Flamingos, and was able to get some good shots in their outdoor pen. Lighting was just right. I was having some fun with shapes and curves in this shot.

Hi everyone. Just a heads up that the office will be closed the week of Labor Day, and will reopen again September 11th at 8 am. Dr. Vicki will be out of town visiting with her Dad and family, and hopefully getting one visit into Buddy's Pizza in Novi, MI. We look forward to seeing all of you again once we get back. We thank you again for your business and for having the chance to be a part of your extended families. - Dr. Vicki , Lea, and Katlynn.

We are almost to July again - where has the year gone! Dr. Vicki is off to visit her Dad again from July 1st through July 15th, so the office will be closed during that time and will reopen on July 17th. Be sure to stop by next week if you will need any food or medications while we are gone. Emergencies will be referred to Oakwood Hills Animal Hospital during the day (715-835-0112) and in the evenings to Allied Emergency Vet Service (715-529-5900). We appreciate your understanding as we spend time with our families.

Meet Bruno, Cinnamon, Freddy, Freda, Lassie, Panda, Patch, Polar, and Shep Smucker. They were in for their 6 week exams and they were a very good looking batch of puppies. Heeler/ Border Collie cross puppies. Very sweet and both parents smart working dogs.
