Hi all! Talking today about the difference between a hobby breeder and a big kennel breeder. Usually a hobby breeder has the babies in thier home, where they get lots of interaction with humans and different sights and sounds. These puppies are usually not fearful, they are highly socialized and should love people. On the other hand big kennel babies do not get the socialization, human interaction and love they so desperately need to hv a fantastic temperment. Now if you get your puppy early from a large kennel, by 8 weeks, then they should start to blossom within a few weeks, if you get the puppy after 12 weeks when the fear stage has come and gone you are in for some serious behavioral challenges. Now Im not saying this about all big breeders because I know of a couple that are amazing and have great setups. I share this because I purchased a puppy about one month ago who was 4 months old and had absolutely no socializing with people, not even the breeder. The baby tried to hide in the corner of the pen when I went to get her at her home. After she got here, she continually would run from me and hide under anything in a corner, hoping I couldn't see her. She would not come to me or walk near or past me. I just gave her all the space she needed. I didnt force her to do anything, I had to build some trust. I can say hving the other dogs really helped her along. Now she isn't running from me, she will walk past me and she has even given me some kisses! Her name is Josie and shes my little sweetheart.
