Driving down my road i noticed a huge head in the air and a big shell near a pond but close to the road. Upon having a 2nd drive by it appears this snapping turtle has a spine/mbd or past traumatic injury. Poor turtle but hopefully he heads back to his pond after basking.

Its been a busy few days. Been building these 3 throughout the day for my other 3 crested geckos and took a trip to watch spider man and eat at mellow mushroom. Now to get up early again to get plumbing done when they arrive for my broken drain pipe so i can play catch up cleaning and get back ontop of things here. In the next few days i will finish these enclosures with the converted suction cup to magnetic hides after sealing the 3 enclosures and let them sit for a few days. Tons more to do, but some things accomplished atm.

It brings me to sad news today that i researched prior but made the call to take this boy to the vet already knowing it was going to be confirmed what i researched exactly. No for sure reason why this has happened except the questionable talk we had where she explained new research has shown to much or regular vitamin d3 even without uvb has been shown in new studies to actually be harming our reptiles. I cant say myself if this is true or false based on all the keepers and breeders that have debated this but this poor boy was doing ok after his tail issue months ago then all of a sudden stopped eating all together. I payed $250 for the services and office visit and we had a phone conversation about the visit itself then more discussion upon pickup. She was very sweet and even told me she couldnt believe how normal he is acting with all that fluid build up and still so sweet. I did opt to not go further cause of funds and how our discussion led to the overall outcome with this issue but it makes me pretty sad overall. We even discussed other issues such as egg binding which were not to positive on the side of things which she also explained some reasons why. Sorry for this post but ive never had a issue with a male gecko overall to a degree of anything like this. He just turned 7 a few weeks ago and been with me for many years and been the sweetest gecko and a great breeder being my only boldstripe bandit in my gecko family. Here are her findings and some of the questionable issues or reasons for those findings. Draining the fluid she mentiined would just fill back up and as discussed in person the kidneys i believe were heavily enlarged.
