Looks like i caught a northern red bellied snake near my alovera garden. Was about to dig up the aloveras and my son was all around the area luckily didnt step on it. I walked up and said ugh son there is a snake right here. Its a cool 60dg today and luckily wasnt a venomous find today.

This guy was chill all day near us at the expo.

So my adult crested escaped and was missing all day yesterday. As soon as i noticed i blocked off the main bedroom so hopefully he was still in there. Come home today and saw him between his enclosure and another but i forgot to leave the door open for him. Once i moved things he started to move downwards then boing onto the floor ready to scoot. Im not sure how im gonna get him in a room full of stuff if he is gonna keep fleeing so quickly. Hopefully the food method works but on a side note. Leopard geckos are still superior even the flighty ones because you know they will be floor area and not between the floor and the ceiling.

Warning!!!!! So with it being 6 days past its clutchmate and no movement in days after noticing the egg was really wet looking i decided to cut and see what happened. A really nice looking gecko except the jaw on one side doesnt look correctly developed so imagine this played a large issue with hatching. This is the first full size/term black night baby ive lost in years of pairing black nights and while it does suck very badly this can happen. The size of the gecko itself is of a above average for some black nights and that in itself makes this a bit more sad.

So i posted this baby last wed when it hatched and today on day 65 the clutchmate still hasnt hatched. The egg was very moist so i dried it but with a light i can clearly see in and see most of the gecko real good. Dont think the gecko is gonna hatch and no movement all day. I did dry the egg off and what i saw with this baby inside was a very white strip all the way down its back even though no stripe has ever been paired to the momma and the stripe lineadge is not at all to my knowing in either of the parents. It really sucks but im hoping it hatches but at day 65 and as sweaty with no movement all day seams like a good sign its likely not hatching. Im going to wait and keep eye on it and i will likely cut this egg when without a doubt i know cause im very curious on this geckos clutch mate. Both were tsf and 2 really good tsm eggs are close to hatching so hopefully this one makes it to. This is the hard part to deal with at times as sometimes one thing can be a bit off for a bit to long or just ramdomly something can prevent the egg from making it. Its definitely a learning curve even when you have done it for years and have it dialed in but sadly it can happen. Fingers crossed for the baby and hopefully one of the others will share the trait im seeing in this one as well.
