Cats and Dogs Forever Sanctuary
strives to give feral and companion cats and dogs with virtually no other options the best life possible in a clean, cage-free, loving environment. We don't have it in our budget to take in more fur kids in need of a safe place
Most of our animals are seniors and special needs with health issues and need regular veterinary care and medications.

Following her vet appointment, Chantelle❤️was ready to go home. This comprehensive visit with her internist involved a range of diagnostic procedures, including multiple blood tests, a urine culture, and an e***a. Chantelle maintains monthly appointments with her internist to carefully manage her complex health issues. Her current treatment plan now necessitates a higher dosage of Cisapride and daily Lactulose, which was previously seldom required.

Our amazing Stormy ❤️ recently underwent the extraction of four canine teeth. He made a remarkably swift recovery from this invasive yet necessary procedure. Additionally, he developed an abscess beneath his chin, which we suspect was a result of Goldie's disciplinary action after he took her sardine. We are pleased to report that Stormy is eating well and is feeling great.

Feral cat Neo was brought into our care with a severely injured eye. His caregiver expressed concern about Neo's colony residing near a busy street. We were able to welcome him to our home. Neo underwent enucleation surgery to ensure he could live a life free from pain. He has since become quite vocal, often being the first to inform us when his meal is not served on his preferred dish. He certainly makes his preferences known when something is not to his liking.

Our adorable and amazing spina bifida warrior, Cricket❤️, will be celebrating her seventh birthday later this year. She joined our sanctuary in May 2020 when she was 6 months old. Her wonderful foster mom protected her from ill-advised vets' recommendations to have baby Cricket euthanized.
We are grateful to have Cricket in our lives. She is simple amazing and demonstrates never give up; no matter what kind of health issues arise, keep fighting. She is daily on sub-q fluids and medications to help her p**p without pain.

A brief update on two of our toughest and cutest family members here at Cats and Dogs Forever Sanctuary.
😼❤️🐱❤️ Stormy❤️ has decided he is the senior medical supervisor around here. Whenever we administer sub-q fluids and medications to our more vulnerable kitties, Stormy is acting as a watchful guardian during their treatments and keeps a close eye on us, watching every move with a judgmental glare to make sure that we don't mess up.
Our Chantelle❤️ is, frankly, too good to be true. She is the ultimate cooperative patient. She is incredibly calm and cooperative during her necessary medical care, making the treatment process seamless for all of us. These two absolute legends had a rough life on the streets and survived some truly awful injuries from being shot several times. They've decided their main job now is running this sanctuary with a blend of intense supervision and angelic patience.
Want to support Stormy and Chantelle's care?
We need help with Stormy's senior medical supervisor salary, aka high-quality snacks.
For Chantelle, best patient in history, we need supplies like diapers, subq fluids, and medications.

This narrative recounts the journey of a feral cat named Stormy❤️ and his transformation from a state of trauma two years and eight months ago to becoming a cherished member of our family.
When Stormy first arrived on our property, he was an elderly, limping, and hungry street cat. We were able to humanely trap him and arranged for a comprehensive veterinary examination that same day, which included X-rays, blood tests, neutering, and vaccinations.
The initial assessment raised concerns regarding his right front leg, suggesting a potential amputation due to previous gunshot wounds that had shattered the elbow. Seeking a second opinion, we consulted our regular veterinarian. As an excellent surgeon, he determined that the bones had fused and were no longer causing Stormy pain. He advised against amputation, emphasizing the benefits of retaining the leg for an elderly cat of his size to maintain balance.
Our goal was to earn Stormy's trust and provide him with a safe, loving environment. While he immediately fit in with our other cats, it took time for him to trust our dogs. He initially exhibited protective behaviors toward his new feline friends, often standing guard and swatting at the dogs. However, our dogs remained patient, and with time, Stormy learned to trust them as well.
