If you or someone you know was impacted by Hurricane Helene, assistance may be available for eligible agricultural and timber losses. Applications are open now through July 21 at 5 p.m. Eastern.

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture has issued temporary animal import requirements following the recent detection of New World screwworm in Texas.

There is currently no indication of an outbreak in Tennessee, but animal owners are encouraged to stay informed and monitor animals closely for signs of concern. Learn more and review the latest guidance below. ⬇️

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture has issued temporary animal import requirements following a recent detection of New World screwworm in Texas.

There is currently no indication of an outbreak in Tennessee. This proactive order focuses on education, early detection and prevention to help protect animal health.

New World screwworm is a parasitic fly that can affect warm-blooded animals, especially through open wounds. Animal owners, producers, veterinarians and transporters are encouraged to monitor animals closely, especially wounds and areas around the nose, ears, eyes, mouth and genitalia.

Watch for drainage, discharge, bleeding, swelling, discomfort, lethargy, isolation or unusual odors.

Suspected cases must be reported to the Tennessee State Veterinarian’s Office within 24 hours at 615-837-5120 or [email protected].

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our customers and communities, the Tennessee Farmers Cooperative Foundation’s Round N’ Raise campaign raised $55,467 during the April campaign! Every dollar raised goes directly back to support local 4-H Clubs and FFA chapters, helping invest in the future of agriculture and youth leadership across our communities.
