Pearl Street Pet Hospital

Pearl Street Pet Hospital Village Veterinary Hospital is a locally owned, full service animal hospital with a personal touch. We also offer pet acupuncture and stem cell therapy!

We love your pets like our own and are passionate about educating pet parents about the optimal care of their pets. We welcome both emergency treatment cases as well as pets in need of routine medical, surgical, and dental care. Dr. Julianna Wilcox recently bought the practice from Dr. Sue Morizi, who has owned and cared for pets for years in La Jolla Village and continues to lend her expertise

on a part time basis. Dr. Wilcox specializes in pain management and senior dog care, but is also great at working up complex medical cases, allergy and skin care, general surgery and dentistry. Come visit our beautiful clinic in the heart of La Jolla where we practice state of the art medicine with the conscientous and compassionate touch that only a locally owned pet hospital can provide.

Your dog can have severe dental disease… and still be eating normally.

By the time we see it on the surface, it’s often been there for months or years.

🦷 Infection below the gumline
🦷 Bone destruction
🦷 Chronic pain they never show

This is why dental X-rays aren’t optional — they’re everything.

At Pearl Street, we treat what you can’t see, not just what you can.

👉 If your pet is over 3 years old and hasn’t had a dental evaluation, it’s time.

My kids asked if they could wear scrubs to the blood drive today.

They said they wanted to help save animals too.

Safe to say my heart exploded a little.

Grateful for this family and for a community that shows up to help animals and people alike.

Maybe we have some future vets in the making.

Did you always know you wanted to work with animals?

3 cases I treated last summer ☀️

None of these dogs were left in cars.

They were simply outside during warm weather, and within minutes their body temperatures rose to dangerous levels.

Once a dog’s temperature reaches 105–106°F, heatstroke can trigger organ failure affecting the brain, kidneys, and blood clotting system.

Swipe through to learn the warning signs and how to protect your pets during heat advisories.

Stay safe out there, San Diego 🐾

Future vets on duty today at the La Jolla Open Aire Market 🐾❤️
These little helpers spent the morning handing out flyers for our upcoming Community Blood Drive at Pearl Street Pet Hospital. One donation can save lives — for people and pets.
Thank you to for supporting our mission at their beautiful jewelry stall Sunday.
TOBRU is named after two beloved dogs, Toby and Bruce, and celebrates individuality and the strength that comes from embracing who you are. We love supporting businesses that share a love for animals.
