Hello all! We are almost halfway to the 11th Annual Unleash the Holiday Cheer, if you can believe that! This year, we are doing something a little different, thanks to multiple suggestions from you! Now we can offer our supporters the opportunity to sponsor a Christmas gift for one or more of our Active-Duty military or veteran families, without asking for a monetary donation.

You can buy the actual gift we are looking to provide at the event! We cannot guarantee it, but we'll ask the family to take a photo with the gift so you can see who your gift went to. It will take some planning and work on the day of, but in the meantime, we can use your help with the gifts, and you can start purchasing them today!

We will give a shout-out with your name or your business name, along with a photo(s) of what you sponsored. This will be on social media and on our UTHC webpage when it is ready, and will also be mentioned in print materials for and at Unleash the Holiday Cheer!

We are very happy to announce that we were nominated by a third party to win LUXlife Magazine's 9th Annual "The Pet Products & Services Awards 2026", for Animal Welfare NPO of the Year 2026 – USA. They reached out on Feb. 2nd to say that we'd previously been nominated and had just been chosen for the voting round by their panel of judges. World Turtle Day is a worldwide day to raise awareness of protecting turtles, tortoises, and their habitats, as well as preventing the illegal pet trade. The pet trade contributes to their declining population, leading to extinction, which will negatively affect our ecosystem.

This is Davinci. He was purchased as a hatchling, about the size of a 50-cent piece, for a classroom. When he got bigger, he was put outside in his 10-gallon tank under a rain gutter, with nothing to land on. He was floating for his life in filthy water, suffering from sepsis, and almost died. Traci rescued him and took him to our friends at . She had to give him shots under his arm for 20 days, and moved him into a 100-gallon tank with a heat lamp, rocks, a floating platform, where he thrived!
While Davinci did not have paws, he was a huge influence on why Traci's Paws exists today.

Gosh, I can't believe the first interview with K**I News was October 28, 2013, at our first dog adoption event at AIDS Walk & Run San Diego!

We sure love working with our friends there, helping get the word out about pet adoption and helping pet families with supplies, pet food, and free veterinary care.

Good morning, all! Did you know that yesterday was Endangered Species Day? Well, we blinked, and it was over, LOL! So today, we will share this great article from FOX 5 San Diego/K**I News.
If you are in San Diego, according to their research, we are home to 140 endangered species! It is important that we do our part to care for our environment and be kind to animals to prevent their extinction.
