Our amazing Turkey Tom has found his forever home! He’s now at SONS Farm Fresh produce market in Oakdale. He will be part of their petting zoo. We are sad to see him go but so happy knowing he will love his new life.

I’m happy to say after months of rehab and living in the house Quack Quack has been able to go out with the other ducks. We didn’t know if she would make it but he’s a tough girl. I will cherish the memories of Hayden singing “ little duckie duddle” to her so she would feel better. Lol

Great news!!! Sunflower Livestock Sanctuary is happy to announce we have our first round of animals up for adoption 😀😀😀 please pm us if interested. In order to adopt you must have the proper living space for the animal and sign a no kill contract.

The adoptions fees:
Bunnies: Female $15
Ducks: $15
Goat: Male, about 8 months old, loves people$ 100.
We do have more goats that may be available. Just let me know if you are interested.

Mariposa, CA — An estimated 2,000 firefighters continue to work towards reaching full containment on the 81,826 acre Detwiler Fire in Mariposa County.

A big positive is that all remaining Detwiler Fire evacuation advisories were lifted yesterday afternoon. CAL Fire is hoping to reach full containment by this coming Saturday. The fire ignited on July 16 at 3:56pm on Detwiler Road near Hunters Valley Road, approximately two miles east of Lake McClure. 63 homes were destroyed, 67 outbuildings and one commercial building.

There are 144 engines still on scene, 53 crews, two helicopters, seven dozers and 32 water tenders. An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
