We haven’t done an introduction in a whiiiiiile so HELLO! I’m Leigh’Ann (right) and that’s my wife, Jordan (left). We met studying theatre at TCU and spent the next decade doing theatre and ballet all over the world. Then Covid shut down the performing arts so we decided to move home to Texas and start a farm! This version skips a lot of steps but that’s the basic outline. We just started our third year on this farm and have learned a ton along the way.

Our farm in Kyle, TX focuses on soil health, natural farming, and delicious food. We grow veggies, herbs, and microgreens with a huge emphasis on tasty, nutrient-packed salads! Oh and I’m also into vegan and gluten-free baking so I bring treats to the market every weekend (and deliver GF sourdough to families around Austin on Wednesdays).

Today marks the start of YEAR THREE on this farm. I cannot- and absolutely can- believe it. So much changed in year two. We built a coop, got chickens, planted peach trees, and added hydroponics. We made new friends, expanded our baking, honed our microgreen skills, and grew more than 2,500 lbs of produce. We survived the hottest and longest summer ever and brought you salads (nearly) every week through it all. What a year!

I’m hoping year three brings more growth for the farm and for me, personally. I hope we continue to see improvement in the soil and pollinators. I hope I learn to trust myself better. I hope to finally crack the code to growing summer squash in Texas. I hope to become more proactive instead of reactive.

Growing a new vegetable feels like magic every time!

We’ve never grown eggplant before but thought we’d give them a try this year. Since I’m a generally risk averse person I chose the Patio Baby variety. And now we’re harvesting mini eggplants! And we’re so excited about it!
