It's so hard shopping for supplements because nothing works instantaneously. After having Charlie on SLH for about a year, I ran out of product, and decided to see what would happen if we stopped using the foot and bone. After about 2 months, Charlie became foot sore, developed an abscess at the coronary band, and I noticed bruising down the hood wall.

Sometimes the change is gradual and overlooked, and it isn't until we change/stop that we realize how well it was working.

We all want whats best for our horses, while being mindful of our wallets. For the past couple of years, I have been trying to develop a more natural way of keeping our horses, moving away from processed feeds to a more 'whole food", forage first diet. At the recommendation of a well respected ferrier, I looked into Silver Lining Herbs to help address issues my horse was having with his feet. He shared with me that the kidneys are the closest organ related to the hoof health, and that clients of his who used SLH Kidney support saw the difference in the hooves. So, (after trying countless other products) we gave it a try. There was no immediate difference, but with time we definitely saw improvements. We used a few different products: Foot and Bone (daily), but also adding the 2 month Kidney cleans, Joint Support (he broke his coffin bone and a chip moved into his joint capsul) and Immune Support. Like I said, the results were slow and gradual, and it wasn't until I took him off the supplements that I saw how much he truly benefited from them. As mentioned before, his hooves have always been an issue for us, but while on the suppliments his abscesses and brushing went away, and for the first time every he had sole! About 4-6 months after stopping the SLH, he developed another abscess, and we have been battling brushing, again...

So, we are back to SLH! I can now say, with proof of my own horse, that this stuff is the real deal (I have other experiences with their INF-X, a "natural" antibiotic, but I'll share that another time). We are still living the natural lifestyle that I have wanted for him (Did you know that herbs are the purest form of vitamins and minerals, and easiest for the body to absorb?) and their customer service is the best around! You can take a quiz on their website and they will give you recommendations on what they think your horse needs (another thing I love about them, they treat the CAUSE not the SYMPTOMS).

The gate has been open for over an hour now, and they were standing right there when I opened it and walked away.... Yet, here the horses are, content with their hay, when they know that a short walk away is all the grass they could eat.

I will be placing another Silver Lining Herbs order December 10th for anyone interested in trying their products. They have supplements for horses, humans and dogs. Come join our wonderful herd! We will have room for 1 horse starting April 1st. We offer pasture board only. Let your horse be a horse, walk around at leisure, eat when they want, take a nap or go play with their friends. Hay is offered around the clock in slow feeder nets. We use small nets spread around the field to keep horses moving as much as possible. We also feed 2x a day with a grain that you provide. You are in complete control over what your horse eats!

We are located on 100 acres with trails throughout the property. We also have a lighted outdoor measuring approximately 90x190. This is not a lesson barn, but boarders are invited to bring in a licensed instructor.

We are a true family barn, where you can come, relax and enjoy your horse!
