I’m often asked when someone is booking a dog portrait session “can I….” Or “can we do …. In our photos?” Almost always YES! The whole point of portraits is to capture your moments and memories. If you duck hunt with your dog, then that’s the memory we want to capture.

Tasu was the goodest boy today during his portrait session. He has supermodel written all over him.

Before we started his mom was worried about how he was going to do. Our location was totally new to him and he’s only a year old… still a baby! Well he showed her! He listened, he gave some great cutie poses, he even held a pose up on a log after she said “no way will he do that”. I think he was just trying to prove you wrong

The dogs that Janie brings into her program are STUNNING and the care and dedication she takes with breeding is truly an art form.

He was perfectly behaved and took in all the newness that the park offered. We even captured him smelling the lilacs in a few photos.

When we were walking through the park, I was immediately inspired to create photos of him along side a woman in a Goddess dress overlooking plateau of some sort with the wind billowing.

With a moment of calm, this energetic girl gave her best model face. Fable has 6 "siblings" and each of them has a lavender portrait, so when she came to the family it was an absolute must!

Some doggie parents think "Oh my dog would never sit still for something like that"

Let me let you a little secret... NONE OF THEM DO! And that's not only OK but it's also expected. Yes, it's helpful if your doggo knows some basic commands but even that isn't required. When we photograph outdoors, they are always on a leash, there are squeekies, tennis balls, and cookies abound. They don't even have to sit if they would rather stand, sometimes the best photo isn't even of them looking directly into the camera. Just like people, every dog has its preferences and peculiarities.

This was Ranger's 2nd year. I mean we had to get an updated portrait! He is a Collie (Just like Lassie) with a glorious floofy coat and gobs of energy. He is the best boy and full of both cuddles and crazies!
