There’s a certain satisfaction when the truth finally comes to light—especially when it concerns someone who has spent years wreaking havoc on hardworking, law-abiding people. For many of us who have been on the receiving end of her endless campaigns, Jodie Wiederkehr’s recent court troubles feel like justice long overdue.she has relentlessly attacked horse carriage operators, rodeo organizers, animal exhibitors and breeders, and anyone else who dares to raise, breed, and work with animals.Across the country, animal rights ideologues are working overtime to push bans on rodeo, carriage rides, working dogs, animal exhibition, circuses, horse shows, and even agritourism. Their long-term objective is simple: to eliminate animal use of all kinds; from the pet on your lap to the steak on your plate!
That’s why cases like this matter. When activists cross the line into false reporting, they undermine public trust, waste law enforcement resources, and unfairly tarnish lawful animal enterprise. And let’s be clear: rodeo, carriage rides, and other uses of animals are not only legal, but also tightly regulated. Carriage horses are overseen by veterinarians. Rodeos operate under rules designed to protect animals. Livestock owners and animal exhibitors are already subject to USDA licensing and inspections. These businesses are not the problem. The problem is the relentless smear campaigns designed to ban them outright.
