!Attention All! Volunteer hours have changed at the farm- It's gotten hot out here on the farm, and we want to make everyone's volunteer experience a good one, so we've moved volunteer shifts to 8:30am thru 12:00pm, Monday to Friday. Make sure to check our website for shift availablity and sign up to let us know you're coming!

We're so excited to share that we are hosting our Buy Back Program for a second year in a row with 5 new gardeners! This program is possible through partnerships with Second Harvest, Sodela, the Lawson Family Foundation, Tennessee State University, the University of Tennessee, and many more.

A few weeks ago, we gathered for an all-day technical skills workshop where each gardener learned how to weigh and process their produce to sell to the community. More importantly, we discussed how to market their culturally relevant food to the Knoxville community and shared dreams for the future. The Buy Back Program allows 5 selected gardeners to get paid for the produce they grow, which is then donated to the community through food banks, community schools, markets, and local churches.

Mark your calendars for the annual Beardsley Farm Plant Sale 🌱 on Saturday, May 2nd, from 1:00pm - 4:00pm at !! We will have a wide selection of peppers, tomatoes, eggplant, flowers, and herbs available for purchase. Crafty is also brewing up something special with some pears from the farm!! Proceeds from each drink will also benefit Beardsley! Cross your fingers for a bright and sunny Saturday! See you there. 😎

Last year, Knoxville-Knox County Community Action Committee (CAC) served over ✨50,000✨ community members right here in Knoxville!! We are proud to be a part of such a wonderful organization that is dedicated to serving our community in so many different and impactful ways.

At the farm, this looks like educational lessons on gardening, community plots for folks to grow their own food, produce distributions to schools and senior housing communities, and more. Throughout the rest of CAC, it is assistance with utilities and home repairs, public transportation, hot meals delivered directly to your door, and so many other social services!

Thanks to everyone who helps make this work possible. You're a part of this amazing impact in the Knoxville community. 💕

Do you know a youth interested in farming or gardening this summer?? Boys and Girls Club Youth Force is currently recruiting for the Summer Apprenticeship Program at Beardsley Farm! Any high school student aged 14-18 is eligible to apply. This is a paid apprenticeship! Along with learning about farming and gardening, apprentices will also learn valuable leadership, team-building, and professional development skills. Give a teen the experience of growing delicious food for our community! Contact information is listed in the flyer.
