We've done a lot of back and forth over the last year, and this is a heads up that GCE is officially based in Knoxville, TN now! This has been changed in our bio finally, sorry for any confusion about our location for a bit!

RETIREES 👀4️⃣🏠

First up is Gr***de! [PENDING] He's 11 months old, and has done his duty here incredibly well. We have several lovely holdbacks from him, and he's ready to retire with someone who can dote on him! Gr***de is pretty people oriented, and usually comes running for some cuddle time whenever I'm messing with his habitat. He would be a good option for a family, or an adult wanting a super cuddly 'bombproof' (no pun intended) hamster! He would be considered for a breeding home, but be sure to check out the genetic coding on him, as he has several possible untested recessives, and is umbrous. He's not silvered very badly, considering his age, so if you're willing to work around the umbrous he may be a good option for a self line looking to reduce silvering! Gr***de is a fairly laid back boy, and tends to be easy to please, but oh boy he pees on EVERYTHING!

Next is Ivy! She is also 11 months old, and can be put on hold for the next 4-6 weeks until her second and final litter (who are currently 2 weeks old) weans. Her older kids are my favorite hamsters in the hamstery currently, and I spend a ton of time loving on her since she also tends to seek out attention when its offered. This same girl dragged me to her nest when she was in labor with her second litter, and placed one of her newborns directly in my hand, thats how trusting she is! She displays the 'stashing hands' behavior i described above, which i find charming, but may frighten a child not used to the behavior, so she would be better for a family with older/no kids, unless you feel confident your family can understand non-aggressive mouthiness. I can't think of an instance where she's ever held me with enough force to cause discomfort, but its always worth considering as a possibility. She obviously isn't going to be avail to a breeding placement due to age, but for the sake of accurate records (since her photo has incorrect info that was proven out in her second litter) she is heterozygous for black (Aa), and NOT mottled, just silvering. She will likely continue to turn whiter with age! She tends to be fairly clearly with her potty habits, and while she's on the laid back side, he definitely has more energy and will utilize her enrichment thouroughly!

Ivy and Gr***de can hop on Mel's Neighborhood or other approved transports, or met publically to pickup in west Knoxville, TN
All retirees are 💲0️⃣, to an approved home, and prior/current GCE fam get first priority!

I would like to keep in regular contact with anyone who takes on a retiree, for the sake of monitoring the health of my breeding lines long term (and due to how much i tend to miss my retirees 😭)! Not expecting you to message every week, but if any health or temperament problems pop up (even seemingly 'random' stuff like ear infections, overgrown nails, URI's, or 'justified' nips (such as if you have to grab them quickly in an emergency and they nip out of surprise)) I'd like to be informed just in case it becomes a pattern in my critters. I wouldn't be apposed to frequent updates and pictures though! It delights me to see my babies being spoiled

To my ham fam here in Winston-Salem, and the surrounding areas, look at this cage for sale here! https://www.facebook.com/share/1Di62GMkea/
This would be fantastic for any solo dwarf or a less burrow oriented syrian! The shape of this makes it poorly suited for a dwarf colony though, so keep that in mind!

If I had the space I'd have snatched it up myself 😍

I'm perfectly happy with anyone this offends showing themselves out.

HAMSTER SUPPLIES IN SPARTANBURG, SC
Hi ham fam! One of my adopters last ham recently passed, and she's offering up all of her remaining hamster supplies locally to her.
This lot will include an ikea detolf, and a variety of hides, treats, toys, and substrates. If anyone in SC (or willing to travel) is interested in a full ham setup, please reach out to me and I'll pass along her phone number.

(one of my non breeding pet campbells, Audie, for ham tax :])

This is Milk (argente) and Ivy (agouti). They are 5 month old purebred female Campbells Dwarf Hamsters.
These two are in the process of bonding, learning to interact with eachother while exploring dynamic enrichment, and their favorite spot when not in a homemade burrow, is this chamber peep hide!
Tonight I caught this interaction. On first glance, this may look concerning, as Milk swatted at Ivy, but notice how neither had ears pinned, and one tried to fall asleep directly after while the other wandered away with unsquinted eyes, perked ears, or a normal pace?
This was a goofy interaction where Ivy (the dominant dwarf), already trying to go to bed, got annoyed with her friend who is trying to groom her, and looked up to tell her to lay down or get out! Milk walked away to go explore the new enrichment items added tonight, and probably to find food. Ivy finally went to sleep after turning around and seeing Milk had walked out.

These particular girls are my favorite of the hams I brought home, Ivy being the prime choice for breeding, and she'll be bred right around new years! These girls will hopefully remember each other well enough for an easy reentigration as Ivy's litter opens their eyes.

Hopefully I can start putting together a collection of recorded interactions, both positive and negative, as their behavior is so wildly misunderstood.

Oh how time flies 😭

I cannot believe it's been a year since i first heard Sugar Bear (pics 4-6) and his siblings squeak? (sorry the rest of his siblings families declined being posted!)
Can that really have been Nutella'a first birthday too?
I can't believe how much they've each grown and changed, I can't believe i was trusted by Winterbell Hamstery to love nutella as much as she did
