Zia Ranch Horsemanship Program

Zia Ranch Horsemanship Program By creating a safe and comfortable environment, the Zia Ranch wishes to offer local individuals the ability to interact and learn through horsemanship.

The Zia Ranch strives to provide a safe, healthy, and natural environment, conducive to learning and growing, and tenders the relationships between humans and animals in order to achieve self-fulfillment. The program works to provide recreational and educational opportunities to any child or adult with any physical, emotional, mental, or developmental challenge. We provide an experience that is no

t only enriching for the rider, but for the whole family. It is this program’s belief that horsemanship is therapeutic and beneficial in many aspects, and all stages of life. We believe, to our core, that the combination of horsemanship and Ecotherapy can enhance day-to-day life and help individuals fulfill their dreams, through exercise, endurance, and patience. Our horses and volunteers are more important to this organization than anything else. It really is incredible to watch a horse and rider work together to better each other, and we hope to offer this to as many walks of life as possible. Without the help and dedication of our volunteers, this program would simply not be possible. We are committed to making a difference in people’s lives, and we plan to start by letting people experience our wonderful animals at the Zia Ranch. We are an organization dedicated to helping people understand and appreciate not only horses, but nature, and natural life in general. We offer many different animals for students and family to interact with, and we wish to create the best healing and growing environment that we can.

Hey Everyone!

Bennie just got back from U.C. Davis. He needs lots of medicine and love, but he gets to keep both eyes! He was at Davis for 8 days, we missed our silly goose. When he got home he was so exited and he's been sun bathing all day (I'll try the catch a picture of him tanning!) We hoped he would be welcomed with open hooves (see what I did there?) and he was! We'll keep you guys updated!

Hello everybody!

My name is Adelynn Hackworth; I am Cali’s oldest daughter and Debbie’s granddaughter. I am 10 years old and will officially be managing the Zia Ranch page. Please bear with us as we update our social media and our website and keep checking back for updated events and programs.

Please message us if you have any questions or would like to get started riding at Zia Ranch. We are currently in need of a few new horses, so we may not be able to accommodate new riders for some time. We do have a waiting list and are seeking new steeds! Thanks for your patience.

This is why we use safety stirrups. They look silly, but they can be the difference between a scare and a disaster.
