Training Tip Tuesday!

Generalizing commands is super important so your pup doesn’t only listen at home!

To ensure your dog responds reliably in any setting, practice commands across a variety of environments and distractions. Begin in the quiet comfort of home, then gradually introduce more challenging locations like parks or busy sidewalks. Unlike humans, dogs don’t naturally generalize commands—they need to be thoughtfully taught that the same cues apply, no matter where they are or whats going on!

Hi everyone! My name is Sydney and I am excited to step into the role of Resort Manager here at No Leash Needed Kirkwood.

Some of you may already recognize me, but for those who don’t — I’ve been part of the NLN pack for over three years! I started at our O’Fallon, IL location in 2022, and over the past several months have grown into the BOH Supervisor role here at NLN Kirkwood.

My journey in the pet care industry began nearly 5 years ago, and I’ve been fortunate to gain experience across grooming, training, daycare, and boarding. I also bring over 7 years of customer service and leadership experience in both retail and restaurant settings.

Outside of work, I spend as much time as I can traveling or outdoors with my two pups, Ruby(7yo black lab) and Ramona.(2yo Pyrenees mix)

I’m looking forward to continuing to support our amazing team and the pets and families we serve every day!
