Dear Friends and Followers,
We wanted to take a moment here to update you on our doings over the last year and a half considering we've been rather quiet. 2021 closed out our litters by Afrika Rubicon and Tall Oaks Sansa. We raised a junior sire, Woods Riyo, out of this pairing and he has developed into a standout stud-our pride and joy. We carefully selected and imported three females from some of the top bloodlines and accomplished breeders in the world. They too have blossomed into beauties and we are grateful to have them on our soil. We hosted a SABBS Appraisal event and come away proud of all our dogs' scorings and characteristics. We entered and dropped out of the show scene equally as fast, yet we are not gone forever! We began training our Boerboels for personal protection and are excited about the further development of that component.
We spent our time throughout 2022 simply living and raising to maturity well-rounded individuals who are well-behaved, confident in themselves, and solid in their role as guardians of our family. We attempted multiple matings that failed as we navigated the science of artificial insemination. We struggled with high output costs and low income in a tumultuous and declining economy. We encountered a string of medical injuries and ailments that put the well-being of our farm and family under tension and high priority. From viruses to surgeries to the death of our matriarch female from an undetermined cause of kidney failure we suffered much.
While 2021-22 were years of accrual and development, 2023 is one of new birth and expansion. We have completed health testing on all up-and-coming breeding prospects and, God willing, we hope to have several beautiful litters hit the ground soon! We intend on making a big move from our current humble home to a nearby new construction site - still in our rural central Arizona community. Bear with us while we make this transition-it will be slow and challenging. We are excited for all the facility improvements that will be established. We are always improving our methods and streamlining our processes and two changes to look for will be the transition to a website and kennel management via GoodDog. Our goal is sustainability for the future of the Boerboel. We will be re-establishing our paused profile there and building our application list for upcoming litters. Stay tuned and don't hesitate to pick up the phone and chat with us.
Despite the hardships that we and many others have faced since 2020 and the challenges that come with building a kennel while simultaneously building a family, our ethics and our enthusiasm for our vision remain steadfast. We are committed to bringing remarkable companions to wonderful families. We value the friendships we have made and aim to always be transparent, kind, and supportive to the dogs and families we serve.
May God bless you in the seasons ahead!
