Meet Onyx - Red Waggin' Rescue - pet of the week!

Onyx was recently in a foster home with two dogs and children, 10 years old and up, and he did great! Onyx is a sweet boy and he's stealing our hearts! He is about 15 months old and eager to learn. Onyx is quick to learn new commands, and very motivated by treats. :) Onyx will do best in a home that can continue to work with him and give him the exercise he needs.

His previous foster moved out of state, so we need to find a new foster home for Onyx so he can get out of the kennel. If you're willing to give him a soft place to land, fill out the application at the foster link below.

It's a family affair! Themy, Thad, and Tito are looking for their forever homes, separately or together!

Themy and her two sons, Tito and Thad, were living in a dirt pen before being given up to a rescue when their owner experienced some health issues. We'd love to see them in new homes for the New Year! Thad and Tito need foster homes, as the two of them are currently in our Eastern WA kennel.

🚨We need your help! 🚨We have two shore weeks to find a special-needs foster home or other placement for a very vulnerable dog named Maria. She is losing her foster home as of mid-January and because of her special needs, we are looking for just the right next spot for her. (Note: We originally thought she'd have to move by 12/31, but have a little more time, thankfully!)

Many of you may know Maria, as she has been in rescue for a while. Maria is a tiny 7-pound Chihuahua mix (estimated 3–8 years old) who has recently, suddenly, lost her vision.

Becoming blind has cause some changes in Maria's personality. Maria is a gentle, sweet dog with a cheerful spirit, but she is fearful of being touched and struggles with handling.

Unfortunately, Maria’s current foster no longer feels able to provide the specialized support she needs to help her adapt confidently to her blindness. For Maria’s well-being, we are seeking a placement better suited to her needs before the situation becomes more stressful for her.

Here's how we're hoping you can help:

♥ We have reached out to a blind dog rescue as well as a couple of others, but have not yet heard back. If you know of a rescue that might be willing to help, please email us via the address below.

♥ Since Maria's time in her foster is running out, we are also looking for a stopgap foster home. We believe she would thrive in a calm, experienced foster home. She does best when her boundaries are respected and when she is allowed to build trust slowly in a calm, predictable environment. She finds comfort in routine, familiar voices, and simply being near her people without pressure.

♥ Share Maria with your friends, family, and local network.

Medical Foster Needed! Please Share!

Poor Freeway came to us in rough shape! Freeway is a 60-pound male mixed breed dog. He was found on the roadside (hence the name) having either been hit by a car or fallen out of a moving vehicle. He has a broken pelvis, broken base of his tail, and multiple abrasions on his legs.

We need to find a foster home for Freeway right away so that we can get his pain managed and start him on the road to recovery while we evaluate our options. We know that surgery is in Freeway's future, but have to see what the best course will be. In the meantime he needs medicine three times a day and to be kept comfortable and clean while he heals.

Check out beautiful Alex!

Alex is a sweet young adult boy whose family had to give him up during some hard times. Thankfully, through a friend of a friend, we get the honor of helping both Alex and his family out.

Alex is a Pure Scottish Straight cat, which, if you subscribed to Cat Fancy like we did, is a pretty Fancy Cat. In addition to being beautiful, he's very loving and cuddly once he gets to know you.

🚨Quarry needs your help! We must find a new foster home for him by 12/14! 🚨

Quarry has come a long way since earlier this year when he was rescued from terrible conditions with several other Aussies. He's still coming out of his shell and needs the right person or people to help him find his forever home.

Here's what he needs:

- A home with a confident leader dog to help him come out of his shell.
- A person (or people!) who have experience with dogs who have endured trauma who can be patient as he learns to trust again.
- A home with a secure, fenced yard. 6ft. or greater wood fence, please.
- No cats or small children. Quarry needs peace without distractions.
