Welcome the new comer to the sanctuary side. His name is Gus. Little background on him. He is a old mule. Unfortunately his old owners are moving to North Carolina and unable to take him with. So they reach out to me to see if we had room. He is nothing but a big gentle giant. As soon as we round the corner to his paddock he looked up and saw my 2 donkeys and let one big happy cry out to them and they returned on back as soon as he was off his lead him and my 2 donkeys ran to the gate to meet and greet each other. Made my heart melt. Before he was on his own. I placed him on the sanctuary side because it is not good for being older and being bounced around. So now all he has to care about is relaxing enjoying whatever years he has left and being spoiled.

As a rescue and sanctuary we know what it's like needing help. We had a extra amount of hay available so we donated it to be taken to those in need from the hurricane. Make us feel good that others animals will have full bellies when it arrives.

If you are in path of hurricane or u and your animals be displaced due to recent one please let us know. We have space here in Texas to help and also a safe place to lay your head an also plenty of room to set up a rv if that is what you have. God bless and be safe
