Hibler Taxidermy

Hibler Taxidermy Established in 1963, Hibler Taxidermy has become one of the largest, most trusted taxidermy business Biography:

In 1958, Joe T. The rest is history.

Hibler was working in the oil field. After a hunting accident, he began taxidermy as a hobby. He enjoyed it so much that he opened a part time taxidermy shop while he continued to work in the oil field. The business began to grow so fast, and he decided in 1963 to go into taxidermy full time. Joe established one of the largest, most trusted taxidermy businesses in the United States. He built his b

usiness on quality of work and integrity. As the hunting industry grew, so did Hibler Taxidermy. Through the years, Joe has mounted some of the best whitetails ever taken in Texas and Mexico. He has come to appreciate the management aspect of the hunting industry, and has seen the quality become even better. Joe went on to establish another business, Hibler Wild Game Processing. This business makes a variety of smoked products including jerky, snack sticks, sausage, summer sausage, tamales, and much more. This business has experienced tremendous growth through the years. Joe now employs about 15 workers between the businesses, and at age 77, has not slowed down a bit. Joe has learned as he has grown older to appreciate the hunting industry that has not only allowed him to make a good living, but to enjoy what he does for a living. He thanks God for the opportunities he has had in his life, and is also thankful for the good friends and blessings he enjoyed through the hunting industry.

Joe T. Hibler harvested a Muy Grande buck just one week before his passing… a moment that carries deeper meaning than any measurement. A member of our 200+ Club with a score of 205 5/8 gross, Joe’s impact on the Muy Grande reaches far beyond the score sheet. He was a teacher, a mentor, and the man who taught Leonel “Muy” Garza the Boone & Crockett scoring system, helping shape the foundation of what Muy Grande stands for.

Inducted into the Muy Grande Hall of Fame in 2011, Joe Hibler leaves behind a legacy written in tradition, knowledge, and respect for the outdoors. Congratulations to a true Muy Grande Legend. 🦌

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Joe T. Hibler, a loving father, grandfather, and patriarch. A true hunting legend, Joe built more than a business—he built a community rooted in passion, integrity, and respect for the outdoors. His knowledge, stories, and generous spirit touched everyone who walked through our doors. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in every hunt, every lesson, and every life he impacted.
He is now rejoicing in Heaven, held in God’s loving arms.
Thank you for keeping his family and our team in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

David has been busy bringing a few ideas to life.

One of his newest pieces is “Kingfisher”.

This beautiful bird is known to swoop into the water by perching or hovering above the surface, then plunging headfirst with remarkable speed and precision to catch fish.
This bronze shows that moment so artistically.

The blue and copper patina hues showcase the beauty of the Kingfisher. The water is made of stainless steel that produces a magnificent reflection of the bird and ties together this mixed-metal work of art exceptionally well.
