🚨 𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔 𝗗𝗢𝗚 𝗜𝗡 𝗚𝗘𝗢𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗧𝗢𝗪𝗡 𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗧𝗬? 𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗚𝗢 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞. 🚨

These dogs were recently taken in at 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 in Georgetown, SC.

Saint Frances is a 501c non profit rescue that holds the 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 to take in dogs picked up by Animal Control in Georgetown.

They have started posting intake dogs once a week- But that means if your dog comes in on a 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 and intake photos are posted 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, your dog sits there for almost a week before posted.

Tonight we read a post from 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲’𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 and we agree with it completely.

No foster should ever feel 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻.
No foster should ever feel 𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱.
No foster should ever be 𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 because a dog has not been adopted yet.

We have heard this more than once and it needs to stop.

Fosters are not failing dogs.
Fosters are giving dogs a chance.

They give them love, safety, patience, structure, and a 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿.

Especially for 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗱𝗼𝗴𝘀, fosters are 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲. They should not just be thanked — they should be 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗹𝗱. ✨

Did you know that every time our volunteers show up for events, transports, walks, clinics, and rescue missions, we try to give them a FOCA T-shirt? 💙

We see the need in our community every single day. In 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 there are simply 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀 and very few low-cost spay and neuter options. And when those options do exist, they can be booked out for 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀.

By then, it is often 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲.

That is why FOCA’s 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝘆 & 𝗡𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝘀 are so important.

✨ ✨ ✨ 𝗙𝗘𝗘𝗟 𝗚𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗙𝗥𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗬 ✨ ✨

Today we’re celebrating Henry and Erin Zumwalt -
two amazing people who truly show up for South Carolina’s homeless animals. 🐾❤️

They donate. They volunteer. They help load transport planes and vans. They drive animals to vet appointments and to rescue.

And then they are 𝗙𝗢𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗘𝗫𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗜𝗥𝗘

Their most recent foster was a shy pup. Henry and Erin gave him patience, love and a safe place to learn trust. Then , when it was time, they drove from Charleston to Columbia and back to make sure he made it safely to rescue.

After being loaded onto the 𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐬 𝐓𝐨 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞 van and driving through the night, sweet 𝐏𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐥 has arrived safely in 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐉𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐲 at his wonderful rescue — Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter🐾

They were so excited to welcome him and he was just as excited to be there. This sweet boy has come such a long way — 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬, 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞.

Thanks to so many people - He is in great hands now and we know this is not the end of his story. We can’t wait to see updates about his care, his future family, and the beautiful life he’s living!

Tonight we loaded 𝟱𝟭 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝘀 — dogs, cats, big dogs, little dogs, and puppies — onto a packed 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝗧𝗼 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗻 headed to 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗝𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗻𝘀𝘆𝗹𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮.
