Professional Pet Trackers

Professional Pet Trackers At minimum, a search dog can confirm a direction of travel, and an area where your lost pet may be hiding. Please note-“we” consist of one human and a few dogs.

Very often lost pet owners will call, text and message me multiple times. This is not necessary and it will only prevent me from getting back to people sooner. Please understand there are no “assistants” or people who field calls or clients. It’s just one person. Please be patient-although you are absolutely dealing with an emergency-I am most likely in the middle of working with another person in

the same unfortunate situation. Please send a text message for the fastest response. Please allow some time for a response as we are working with other lost pet owners.

THIS is why lost pet owners should NEVER EVER NEVER GIVE UP!
Oliver went missing on 9/15/20. His human Kathy Basios reached out to me and we were set to search on 9/18/20. And we searched. A lot. But no matter how many visits and how many different start points/perimeter scans-we ended up at the same field only a couple blocks from home. Never getting any activity from either Enzo or Sonja. And the field where they continued to end at was an empty field that lined backyards in the area. With no Oliver in sight, we were unfortunately at a dead end. Was it possible someone took Oliver in? He was an indoor/outdoor cat with a collar on when he disappeared. Maybe someone fell in love with him and simply wanted to keep him. YEARS ago by. Kathy received a phone call about a couple weeks ago. Over Mineola Blvd, Willis Ave, Nassau Blvd, the LIRR tracks and Roslyn Rd, The Resnick family turns out had been feeding Ollie for the past 3 years!!!! The knew in the guts that he wasn’t a stray. He was too friendly. So they scanned him for a microchip. He wasn’t a stray. He’s been missing for nearly 5 years!!!! Where he was for the two years prior to the Resnick family caring for him, we will never know. But to be eternally grateful to the Resnick family for taking action and doing the right thing, this would be an understatement!!
It is believed that Oliver probably got caught up in an illegal trap and relocate situation. He was unaccounted for for about 2 years and being cared for for about 3 years by the Resnicks.
But last night, after an uncountable amount of attempts with many different approaches, Mr. Resnick was finally able to simply scoop Oliver up and put him into a carrier. And back home he went!!!! WOW!!! Seriously WOW!!!!! Almost 5 years later!!! Welcome home Oliver!! You are as brave and resilient as they come! If you could only talks. I KNOW how relieved your family is!!!!
Microchip your pets!!!! PLEASE!!! This amazing ending would not have happened if Oliver was not microchipped!!!

No noses used this morning. Tully missing in Blue Point is home safe! Moxi, Tullys human, noticed as we were arriving this morning, he showed up on camera in the overnight hours. So instead of taking out a K9-we watched the direction he went in on the camera footage. First we came up on their own shed and he wasn’t there. I checked the property for obvious exits and found Tully’s fur under the fence where he went through to the property behind home. We went over and with the thermal scope I saw Tully under their neighbors shed-the longest shed I’ve ever seen! So after blocking all breaches under the shed, then with a little pressure, a little persuasion and A LOT of patience we finally got him! Welcome home Tully! I’m so sorry I got you a little dirty but I’m so happy you are back home safe where you belong❣️❣️❣️

Please share in hopes of giving the owner closure. This is all the info I could get. Hopefully it’s enough and the owner can be located. RIP

Sage went missing from South Orange Avenue in Newark after being attacked by a neighbor’s dog. She’s been missing for 1 week now. She appeared to be not badly injured and ran off and was never seen again. It has been confirmed that Sage is no longer roaming the area. We are hoping she is with a finder who simply wanted to save Sage from the dangerous streets in a very busy area who also wants to do the right thing and return her to her human. Please share in hopes of reuniting Sage with her family.

This is a screenshot from someone else who posted on the neighbors app. I don’t have details and I can only hope it’s not true. But felt the need to inform queens residents. Apparently this has been confirmed in Glendale, middle village and Ridgewood. Not sure if or where else this happened. Be mindful. Indoor/outdoor cats are exposed to risks. Feral cats are exposed to far more risk. Almost all risk involves humans.

Sometimes our work does not have an ending we hope for. But closure is always better than the unknown. Sonja, Maggie and Dino assisted in the search for Frankie and we are so very heartbroken to report that Frankie is no longer with us. Run free baby girl. You were loved more than you could ever know 💔💔💔

💔🌈R.I.P Frankie, after Tracker Kelly’s second Search her dog did not go very far and found remnants of quite a bit of fur which matched Frankie. Once the dogs got to that point, they sat down and did not go further. Huge thank you to the whole Greenwich community, Kelly & her dogs from Professional Pet Trackers for searching, CTDGRV Melanie, Jill, Melissa, and our new volunteer Kristen for all their help and guidance to the owner. A huge thank you to Jlofts in Greenwich, who posted on their page and who kept their eye out for her as well. Thank you to Mike from heat seeker Drone as well as Rocco for flying to look for Frankie. Our hearts go out to Frankie’s owners.
Run free sweet girl

Missing in Greenwich:

*UPDATE 2/25: Last known sighting around Bruce Park Area…
DO NOT call out to the dog or attempt to catch the dog, please just call the numbers on the flyer. Thank you

This beautiful girl is very skittish. She can run very fast. If you see her please, DO NOT call out to her or chase her. She will just continue to run. For her safety please just call the number on the flyer with information on where you saw her and the direction she’s going in. Please do not post sightings on social media. We need to get her back safely.
She was last seen in the area of Byram Road and hilltop Road.
Please share.

Food for thought:
Be a professional in an effort to properly evaluate each lost pet case individually.
One of the first questions I ask lost pet owners: “is your lost pet afraid of dogs”. Getting to know the personality of the individual pet is a priority. If someone calls and they say their dog is terrified of other dogs-search dogs should not be your first go to tool/resource in searching for your lost pet.
There are MANY different tools/resources available when searching for a lost pet. But not all are always productive or helpful.
If an animal is sensitive to sounds-drones can be terrifying to a lost pet.
If an animal is terrified of their crate or a carrier-a trap may very well be the last thing the animal will approach.
It is our job-as professionals-to understand each case and know when to tell a lost pet owner that other resources would be better fit for their individual case.
It is our job-as professionals-to not misguide a lost pet owner with the service we provide.
If we say we are a “tracker”-showing up with at least one search dog and working the dogs is a must.
If we say we are a trapper-bring a trap and a camera to monitor that trap.
Drone flyers-bring those drones.
If you help hang flyers-bring your staple gun.
Often some of us offer more than one service-but if you say you will be providing a specific service-do it.
Don’t claim to be something and show up with nothing.
Don’t offer a service that can end up being completely counterproductive and may very well be the reason that lost pet never surfaces.
And if you cannot offer a service that someone needs - BE PROFESSIONAL and recommend someone that can indeed offer what can be a helpful service-even if you don’t like the service or the provider.
Why should the animals suffer because the humans involved in helping are not taking THEIR RESPONSIBILITY seriously?
Don’t be the reason a lost pet owner is left feeling hopeless and a lost pet remains lost.
It happens too often and it needs to stop.

“Save This Life” is a microchip company has shut down. I’m not familiar with the company but for those who have their pets microchipped with this company please be sure to register your pet’s microchip with any of the 3 companies below. If you do not register your pet with a new microchip company-your pet’s microchip WILL NOT have your contact info attached.

Words of wisdom from a very good friend. NO ONE LOST PET IS THE SAME. Evaluating an individual case is key. Giving “copy and paste” advice can be counterproductive all too often.
