Come get some puppy love tomorrow and find your new fur baby. None of our babies leave same day as the event. It is a time for meet and greets and to submit applications.
* The Yum Yum Litter will be there but will not be able to be handled because of the limited vaccinations they’ve had so far.

Heat Exhaustion Deaths are real!

🚨

We have already received a heat exhaustion death report—and summer has barely begun.

The heartbreaking reality is that many owners think their dog is protected because they have a dog house, kennel cover, or other enclosure. But during extreme heat, those structures can become dangerous. Enclosed dog houses, covered kennels, metal structures, and areas with poor airflow can trap and attract heat, creating temperatures far higher than the air outside.

What feels like shelter to us can become an oven for a dog.

Today, before you scroll on, please check:
💧 Is there fresh water available right now?
🌳 Is there shade that moves with the sun throughout the day?
🏠 Is your dog's shelter well-ventilated, or is it trapping heat?
🔥 Are metal buildings, kennel covers, tarps, or enclosed spaces collecting heat and making conditions worse?
🐕 Can your dog escape the hottest part of the afternoon?

Dogs don't get to turn on a fan.
Dogs don't get to go inside and cool off.
Dogs depend entirely on us.

Watch for warning signs including excessive panting, heavy drooling, weakness, vomiting, disorientation, or collapse. By the time some of these symptoms appear, it may already be an emergency.

With record temperatures in the forecast, a few minutes of prevention could mean the difference between life and death.

Please check your pets. Check on your neighbors' pets. Share this post so another family doesn't experience the heartbreak of finding their dog too late.

Happy Adoption Day 6/12/26 incredible little Isabella! You had a week long stay here with me and boy how I fell in love with you. You are dainty and sweet and oh so loving! Your sweet little face melts my heart! It’s a good thing your new family found you so quickly because I was going to hide you here forever! You came to us a matted mess and was so neglected but that will never happen again! You are going to be so loved by a sweet family here in Kings Mountain, NC. We were told that you were bonded with Bruno but after watching you two, we felt like you deserved to have some relief from his antics! He drove you nuts and you were always warding him off. It’s time for you to be able to relax and receive undivided attention from your new family. I love you sweet baby girl! I’m so glad we could help you feel so much better and find you an amazing new home.🐾🐾💕

We need volunteers desperately to help with our adoption event this Saturday, 6/13, at PetSmart Gastonia from 9:30-1:30. Some of our regular volunteers are on vacation or have a medical issue and are unable to help. We also need help setting up tomorrow night at 7:00 (Friday, 6/12). We desperately need fosters ASAP! Guys we can not rescue without fosters. I can only do so much here at my home!! You would be shocked if I told you how many I have here and care for every single day. Yes it takes dedication, hard work, blood, sweat, and tears and not to mention SACRIFICE!!!
People are quick to contact us to take in dogs but are hardly ever willing to foster. If we don’t have Foster’s step up then I will throw in the towel and close Amy’s Angels Dog Rescue because I will have no choice! We have had more dogs returned in the first 6 months of 2026 than we have the entire time added together since I started rescuing in 2022. Rocky, Chase, Julia (Jo), and Nora desperately need fosters! I’m not giving a sob story but I am being REAL! I need you NOW! Julia is coming back because her mommy had a baby recently and I literally have nowhere to put her. Nora lives in my garage because no one has stepped up to foster her. Chase and Rocky’s finder/foster is having a baby and will no longer be able to foster them. They are currently with Kendra, owner and trainer at Thrive Animal Academy who has been amazing to our rescue! She has volunteered her time and boarding to help me, especially since Sadie’s liver transplant surgery. We don’t have a magic wand to wave to fix all the sad and daily struggles that rescues endure every single day. We go nowhere except church on Sundays, vet appointments, and adoption events. We sacrifice our personal savings to pay for dog food every single month ($1500). We sacrifice family time, vacations, and everything in between. It is so disheartening when I see how hard my little village of a few people, works and sacrifices. I see on Facebook other rescues ask for Foster’s and they literally have 10 people fighting over who is getting the small fluffy dogs to foster. I won’t lie…it hurts!! I’m happy that the dogs are getting help but I just don’t understand when I BEG and get only my few regulars, ride or die fosters. I love each one of you and don’t know what I would do without you! We are an ALL breed rescue which means we have saved and are saving dogs of all sizes, not just the cute fluffs that everyone wants and are easily adopted. I guess for that reason, we are where we are and have limited fosters, which is very sad! I can’t just turn away abandoned, dumped, and abused dogs just because they’re not small breeds! I just can’t do it because their stories are just as heartbreaking as the small dogs! We have rescued Cane Corsos, Great Danes, pregnant Pitt Bulls and on and on and on!
I appreciate ALL who have supported us financially so often! I don’t want to appear ungrateful by any means but I am exhausted , my cup is empty, and I’m literally stressed to the max wondering where these dogs are going to go, in addition to worrying about medical issues with our family and the emotional toil we are suffering. IF you are willing to foster please contact us asap.

Look at this doll after her grooming at Happy Tails Grooming today! Thank you Sebrina Vinson and Alyssa for giving Isabella a spa day! You could not see from the before pictures but this sweet gal had cantaloupe size mats all over her body, including a grapefruit size mat under her chin! They were so neglected and I can’t imagine how much better she feels! Bruno’s turn tomorrow!
