Here at McGee Farms Performance Horses, we take pride in developing, training and showing world class reining horses. Congratulations to David and MCG Just Dig cruising around to mark a 146.5 in the SERHA Derby placing in the Level 4 and Co-Champions in the PT, adding another $2,000 to their LTE's and totaling $47,000 in LTE's for Kid Rock. At just 4 years old, this horse is amazing with a lot more under the hood. Thank you Deon for everything you have done to get this horse where he is today and slowly building his confidence with each run.

Congratulations Gina and Silver Gun Voodoo adding $3,100 to their LTE’s in the 2025 Florida Reining Classic Non-Pro 7&Up Derby today. Gina and Luciano marked a 213.5 with a couple of bobbles to place 8th in the Level 4, 7th in the Level 3, 8th in the Level 2, 5th in the Level 1, 3rd in the PT Derby, 7th in the Non Pro, 4th in the Intermediate and 3rd in the PT.

We are so proud of Luciano. He’s just shy of $24,000 in LTE’s and with many more runs left in him!!!

Congratulations Gina and Voodoo Whiz adding $4,400 to their LTE’s in the 2025 Florida Reining Classic Non-Pro 7&Up Derby today. Gina and Snoopy marked a 216 to place 6th in the Level 4, 5th in the Level 3, 6th in the Level 2, 4th in the Level 1, 2nd in the PT Derby, 6th in the Non Pro, 3rd in the Intermediate and 2nd in the PT.

We are so proud of Snoopy. He’s always been special to us and it’s taken a few years to finally get a run like this. He’s just shy of $24,000 in LTE’s and we aren’t stopping now!!!

With Kid Rock’s and Snoopy’s winning’s this weekend, we just added $11,000 to Miss Whizarima’s PE’s and Shiner’s Voodoo, as well! This mare is a producer for sure!

Congratulations David and MCG Just Dig adding close to $6,500 to their LTE’s in the 2025 Florida Reining Classic Non-Pro Derby last night. David and Kid Rock were draw #131 of 134 and after a long day of waiting, they went in and marked a 218.5, just a half point behind the winning score of 219!!! There was a 4 way tie to win the Level 4, so they ended up 5th in the Level 4, 2nd in the 4YO Level 4 and CHAMPIONS of the PT Derbies!!!

We are so proud of Kid Rock. Being only a 4YO, his LTE’s are already at $45,000 in just a few shows.

Thank you again to our trainer, Deon Locke, for a phenomenal job getting this horse broke and ready to show at this level.

McGee Farms Performance Horses is in need of part-time weekend barn help to clean stalls/paddocks, stock hay, fill hay huts/nets, stock shaving, stock wood and other miscellaneous cleaning duties. Must be hardworking, responsible and reliable. Must have own transportation to and from work. GREAT 💰. Every other Saturday/Sunday starting at 6:00am. This is a one person job. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. Private message if interested.

❤️…this team right here just added another $33,500 to their NRHA LTE earnings pushing David over the $300,000 mark and Kid Rock to almost $38,000 in just his 3YO year!!! They also won an additional $3,000 from Silver Spurs Equine Stallion Incentive program.

This also added $38,000 to Miss Whizarima’s PE’s for a total of $82,500 with just 3 show horses!

It’s taken years to develop our breeding program and it’s been a long journey to get to this point, but I always knew it would happen one day with the right program. Thank you Deon Locke for getting us here because this definitely would not have happened without you. We are so fortunate to have you back and look forward to watching you train many more champions!!!

Beyond excited for this team!!! Our very first home-bred to make it back to the NRHA Non-Pro Level 4 Futurity Finals!!! Our reining community understands the hard work and sacrifice that goes into making this happen and after years of breeding, we are here!!! Thank you to our trainer and coach, Deon Locke, for believing in this horse and getting him ready for this level of competition!!!

Our Story

David and Gina McGee founded McGee Farms Performance Horses in 2011 after their passion for the reining horse industry. The McGee's purchased their first reining horse in 2008 and David began showing the next year. It did not take long before they were "hooked" by the reining bug. David made his debut "Rookie of the Year" run in 2010 and qualified all 3 of his Rookie horses (Chics Need Money, Peppy Badger Chick and Ridin On Spinners) to compete in the Southeastern Affiliate Finals. 2 of the 3 horses (Chics Need Money and Peppy Badger Chick) qualified to go on to Oklahoma for the National Rookie of the Year. In 2011, David qualified his 8 year old Shining Spark mare, Shine On Retsina, to compete in the Southeastern Affiliate Finals and placed 3rd to be eligible to go on to Nationals. After 2 outstanding runs, David and Sparkles ended up with a 4th place Non-Pro and 5th place Intermediate and Limited Non-Pro National runs. Gina made her debut "Rookie of the Year" run in 2011 and qualified both of her Rookie horses (Chics N Salsa and Ridin On Spinners) to compete in the Southeastern Affiliate Finals. Her 4 year old mare, Chics N Salsa, qualified to go on to Oklahoma for the National Rookie of the Year and placed 19th in the Nation. In 2010, the McGee's began construction of a premier reining facility that would include a 300'x150' covered riding arena with special footing for reiners and an adjacent 150'x75' climate controlled 18 stall show barn. The riding arena was completed by the spring of 2011 and the barn was completed by the Spring of 2012. Our focus is to breed or obtain the best horses reining industry has to offer in order to be competitive at the top levels. So far we have accomplished those goals with David currently sitting 10th in the Nation in the 2019 Non-Pro Rankings!!!
