This is Ryan & Havannah, a few days ago while they were at Ryan’s grandpa’s funeral, their home caught on fire with all their pets inside. A friend had been coming by to care for their 4 dogs, 4 cats and their bearded dragon, named Toothless. Everyone made it out safely, except for their cat Nova💔 They were all transported to the shelter, until Ryan & Havannah were able to return. Unfortunately, the fees to reclaim their pets were over $600, and it was a struggle to come up with that. They will be staying with some friends, 2 of the dogs, all 3 of the cats (and Toothless), while waiting for the repairs to be done on their home. The other two dogs are boarding here with us, Jax & Amor. 3 of the 4 dogs need updated vaccines, and neuters, the same for the 3 cats. We are going to get everyone fixed and vaccinated with help from Cody Courtain and Snip and Tip. We have purchased an enclosure for Toothless, as his home was full of ash and covered in soot. I am asking for anyone willing to donate a few dollars towards their boarding (I have extended them the rescue rate), the surgeries and vaccines, and the new tank for their bearded dragon. Peach🍑 was “just another street dog” (they ALL matter!) from South Texas. Thank you Vero Garcia for picking her up, we took her with no plan, because, well look at her in front of that puddle🥺. She’s been here a little while now, feeling safe and protected, learning to trust. Found wandering behind Walmart, alone and quite obviously, severely attacked by another dog. I do not have a rescue for him to go to, no rescue was able to commit to taking him, after the shelter sent out pleas for help. So… I took him. Many thanks to Dr. Kosar at the Killeen Banfield for getting him right in. We’re hoping the leg won’t have to be amputated, waiting for the swelling to go down and more check ups. What in the world would make someone think this is adequate shelter?? And WHY even have pets if this is where you’re keeping them leashed up? Well no more, thankfully these 2 were confiscated, after a responsible neighbor called in the situation, to the Killeen Animal Shelter. They are safe, have the proper housing, and are happy. 💖
