We had a bit of an SOS moment with Spicey Spice this evening. This is what happens when people continuously breed these poor dogs, and they have to get c sections done over and over again. Lots of adhesions on her inner body wall, her body was unable to maintain and hold together, what should have been a standard, no problem spay, on another dog. THANKFULLY, our amazing friend and official Red Barn transporter, Kathryn McLeod, and the phenomenal Bobbi Jo Quick AKA our emergency vet tech, made a house call to fix our girl up for the night! Tomorrow she will go back to the surgeon to have this permanently repaired. I truly cannot do all of this, without all the help and generosity from others, THANK YOU!!

Early morning vaccine clinic with Dr. Corey from Town & Country Veterinary Medical Center, a few of the pups are pictured, but we did 16 dogs! Distemper/parvo, bordetella, rabies, heartworm tests, proheart ( heartworm prevention) and “well baby” check ups! Keep your pets vaccinated and safe!💗

Transport today with Ginny Reyes, another superb, quality transporter. Please contact her for South Texas (Rio Grande Valley) to the Dallas/Ft Worth area, weekly runs. Another desperate family came in today, on their way to the flea market, this coming weekend. Thank you Pet Tales Rescue for taking all 9 puppies and mom, and saving them from zero quality lives. We couldn’t save anyone, without all these wonderful rescues!💕

Exit stage left! 10 dogs left on transport today, and what a phenomenal transport it is! Clean, safe crates, caring people, quality and professional. Thank you to Gigi Rhodes for always providing the best care for the dogs. We care for them here for weeks, months, sometimes longer. We are attached to them, we love them and we only want the best for them. So the safe travel to their destination, is of the utmost importance. Should you ever use any type of transport company, please do your due diligence for the safety of your pet/foster/adoptee, there are some awful companies that are only in it for the money. Best wishes to our babies!😍

Update on “Mateo”, he did great at the vet, did NOT have to be sedated and took his groom down like a champ! Other than some light skin issues, for which he is on meds, he looks great! I will update when the new coat grows in!😍

We are leaving the shelter, heading to Town & Country Veterinary Medical Center,  to be sedated, shaved down and thoroughly checked out. Every time this happens, I continue to be shocked at the poor treatment of animals by other humans. I will post after pictures.
