⚡️Kinesiology taping information ⚡️

Originally developed for human athletes, kinesiology tape is now utilized in horses for muscle and joint support, pain reduction, inflammation reduction, and increasing proprioception. The elastic tape provides support without limiting the horse’s mobility.

🐴 What is kinesiology tape? An elastic cotton-blend with non-latex adhesive. Making the tape breathable and hypoallergenic.
🐴 What are the benefits of kinesiology taping?
— Pain reduction
— Lymphatic and blood circulation
— Muscle and joint support
— increased proprioception
🐴 How does kinesiology tape work?
— Pain reduction: it stimulates the mechanoreceptors (nerve endings). When these nerve endings are stimulated they block nociceptors (pain receptors) from firing. The blocking of these pain receptors naturally reduces pain.
— Improved circulation/ inflammation reduction: By lifting the skin and providing space between the layers. This mechanically decompresses the skin and soft tissues which promotes flow of blood and lymph fluids. This leads to reduced inflammation.
— Muscle/ joint support: can be used to stabilize and support joints as well as muscles during movement. It supports the muscles proprioceptive feedback (the body’s awareness of its own positioning).
— Increased proprioception: while wearing the tape during movement, the proprioceptive nerves are stimulated which heightens the brains awareness of the body’s position and movement.

Introducing the EquiVibe:

⭐️What is an Equivibe? — it is a whole body vibrational plate that produces VERTICAL vibration.
⭐️What is vertical vibration? — it is the most naturally occurring vibrational pattern. It mimics the natural vibration that horses experience while moving.
⭐️ What does this mean? — The vertical movement across a stable platform excites the nerves and helps to mobilize joints and strengthen muscles to enhance function without creating stress on the body.
⭐️ What makes an Equivibe different? — in addition to the specific vibrational pattern, the Equivibe is a whole body vibration platform. Meaning that the vibration does not stop at the horses knees, it goes throughout the entire body and works on up to 90% of muscle fibers! This strengthens muscles and helps to develop more muscle tissue.
⭐️ What are the uses/benefits? — performance, rehabilitation, and preventative care.
-Preventative: improves flexibility, calms nerves, keeps muscles active (helps prevent loss of muscle mass), helps prevent loss of bone density, helps improve hoof quality, helps improve joint health.
-Rehabilitation: Assists the body’s natural healing process by improving circulation (blood flow and lymphatic), which also aids in flushing the toxins/metabolic waste from cells and restoring oxygen.
-Performance: Can be used to warm up/cool down the horse before/after exercise. Increased blood flow and muscle mass for faster recovery. Prevention of soft tissue injuries.

Results are independent to each horse and will vary depending on frequency of sessions, the horses specific circumstances, and other factors.

Exciting news!
I will now be offering two new services — kinesiology taping and EquiVibe sessions.

Both services will include palpating your horse to determine areas of muscle tension or soreness as well as checking range of motion in various joints. Sessions will then be tailored to your horse’s individual needs.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Love is in the air, and I love trimming horses 🫶🏻

Are you searching for a place to board your horse?
Let us take the stress off of caring for your horse over the winter for you!

At pinedoro stables we offer full care board. This includes:
🐴 a stall (pine bedding provided)
🐴 turnout in our herd pasture
🐴 our grain (you are welcome to bring your own)
🐴 and of course hay and nice clean spring water

When boarding with us, you have access to:
✔️ A lighted arena (prefect for working horses in the evenings this time of year)
✔️ Arena equipment for many disciplines (barrels, poles, jump standards, trail obstacles, etc.)
✔️ A round pen
✔️ Numerous trails
✔️ Wash rack with hot and cold water
✔️ Trailer parking
✔️ Hauling to shows, trail rides, other events
✔️ On-site farrier for trims and shoe pulling as needed

Hello everyone, let me introduce myself:

I am Lexi Guthrie, owner of Just Hoofin’ It Equine Services, LLC. Recently, I have started conducting business at Pinedoro Stables— where, as many of you know, I grew up taking riding lessons from Joyce Heinz!
Over the years I have rode many horses at Pinedoro, as well as bring along green horses, which led to starting and restarting other horses. Pinedoro became a second home for me, which is why I’m very excited to offer services here and let others experience the same joy and opportunities that the stables has brought me over time.
