Had a light crowd today with the rainy forecast, so bounced around a bunch of local areas that SHOULD have fish this time of year. Found some right away, both shorts and keepers, but not enough. Kept it moving and found a real nice patch of fish but mainly shorts. Lots of bites, and lots of just miss fish. Once that slowed we checked a few other areas but found more of the same, the shorts dominated the catch.

We are going to take a pass on tomorrow with the strong NE winds forecasted. We'll be back out on Thursday!

Better fishing for our Marathon Monday!
Made our way out this morning with a rare light marathon crowd. Took a ride which felt extra long bucking the tide both ways, but had immediate action as soon as we stopped. The morning saw some nice shots of keepers mixed in with the endless shorts. Mid-day the shorts really took over, to the point that we had to run from them. Had some current come up against the wind for the last hour but some bigger fish started to bite again. Had to cast around and work for the bites with the lack of drift, but those who did were rewarded. Brett was HH with 4, couple other limits and a bunch of guys with 2 each. Couple guys had over 50 shorts themselves😅 So definitely no lack of life today.

Back at it in the am. Everyday is different, we'll see what tomorrow brings! Been putting in lots of miles in every direction, grinding away to put a catch together for the past few weeks. Nothing has came easy!

Back at it today with a nice crowd and a beautiful ocean. Went in a different direction from where we've been fishing. Didn't have too much of a float so we bounced around picking shorts on a few drops. Finally got some movement when the wind picked up and the keepers started to chew a bit. Had some shots of keepers come up through the shorts throughout the day. Lots of quality, bunch in the 4-6lb range. The Seabass were ferocious too, if you dropped bait down it was almost instant. Had to use the bigger gulps to w**d out the smaller bites. Lots of action all day. Back at it tomorrow!

Got down to the dock this morning and was greeted with a stiff NE wind, much more than was forecasted. Made the decision to bag the trip knowing the conditions weren't going to be right for where we needed to fish. Spent the day catching up on some much needed maintenance instead.

We will be sailing tomorrow morning, Sunday 8/30! Weather looks good, wind should lay off until the afternoon. We have plenty of room, come on down.

Back out today after taking yesterday off with the wind. Ocean still had a little roll to it but otherwise a gorgeous day. Short life was absolutely ferocious. Drop and reel at times. Weeding through hundreds of shorts to find a keeper. Bounced around some smaller pieces of bottom the remainder of the day and was able to pull a couple keepers off each piece. Anywhere we went we had the fantastic short life, so definitely no lack of action. Always want to see more keepers, but the short life was great to see.

Back at it tomorrow. Plenty of room all weekend, come on down.

Beautiful day on the water today, couldn't be any nicer. Started local where we fished yesterday and didn't really see the life we had. Picked a few fish but nothing good so took a ride in another direction. Found some sick life, very fast short action with a few keepers a drift. Nice long drifts with non stop action. Gilbert was HH with 4, some with 2 and a bunch of singles around the boat.

Unfortunately tomorrow's forecast doesn't look great so we're going to take a pass on Thursday mornings trip with the hard south winds.

Friday and the weekend look great and we have plenty of room. Come on down!

Back out this morning with a light weekday crowd. Opted to stay local this morning with the dismal fishing where we usually fish this time of year. Fished the snags close to home and found loads of life. Nice long drifts with non stop action of shorts and keepers. Had lots of fishing time being so close to home too. Couple guys ended with their 3, and a bunch of singles spread around the boat. Sooo many heartbreaking 17.999" fish today. But nice to see the bites with some quality keepers mixed in.

Back at it tomorrow, weather looks great and we have a light crowd scheduled.

Back out this morning with a nice sold out crowd for our Marathon Monday. Took a long ride first thing this morning to an area we haven't fished yet this year. A very long ride😅. Had bites right away, with both keepers and shorts coming up. Had some shots of fish throughout the morning working over a bunch of different bottom. Then the south wind came up and shut it off like a light switch. Died off to a slow pick of shorts. Took another ride to where we've been fishing on our marathon trips recently to end the day. Picked a few more keepers and a handful of shorts but not enough. It was significantly better than our local fishing has been for sure, but still not what we're looking for. Especially with that long ride. Was nice to see a lot of quality fish today though, in the 4-6lb range.

Back at it tomorrow, going to head in a different direction and check out some local bottom.

Pretty slow fishing today
Rain cleared before we left the dock and left us with a very nice day on the ocean. Fished a ton of different drops today from 55'-110' and saw pretty much the same everywhere. Some drops had great short life but never found any amount of keepers. Picked and plucked a few but never found anything to sit with. Covered a lot of bottom today. Thanks everyone for fishing hard.

Back at it tomorrow for our marathon... Going to take quite a ride😅

Back at it today after a few days off with the poor weather. Ocean was gorgeous, but didn't know what to expect really. Bounced around a lot of small pieces, finding loads of life on every one, with each producing a few keepers. Probably the best short life we've seen in the past week, with some nice quality keepers in the mix. HH had their limit today. Great sign, they should bite better and better each day.

We're back at it tomorrow, Sunday, with plenty of room! Come on down, weather looks great.
