Orion Triple R is a no-kill rescue dedicated to the rehabilitation and rehoming of neglected and abused dogs and horses. The organization was founded when our President saw the need for not only a no-kill rescue, but an establishment that educates people about the animals in their lives. As a result, she has brought together a passionate staff and network of people who believe that dogs and horses
can be rehabilitated and taught to trust again, regardless of mistreatment they may have suffered in the past. Both dogs and horses have dedicated themselves to humans for thousands of years. What started as an exchange of protection or service for food has blossomed over time into an emotional partnership at the soulful level. In exchange for their service, love, and loyalty, every animal deserves a chance to find balance with the right human partner. Abuse and neglect are saddening realities, and we at Orion Triple R try to do our part to rescue dogs and horses who deserve better. While there are many animal shelters out there, there is not only a lack of no-kill shelters, but a lack of education about shelter animals. On average, most animals entering a shelter are euthanized within 96 hours of entry into the facility. We believe that 96 hours may not be enough time to rehabilitate a potential pet and find it a new home. Making the right placement takes time, effort, and resources that many shelters just don’t utilize. Orion Triple R is NOT a shelter, rather it is a rescue. This means that we take animals in the most dire stages of need, nurse them back to health mentally as well as physically, and put in the training they need to become a balanced family member. We also are active in community outreach, educating people about the treatment of animals and training techniques. When you adopt a pet from Orion Triple R, we have already rehabilitated the animal, but we will train YOU. Our commitment, time, and expertise are what help us make a difference in the rescue community and spread awareness within the population at large. We accept volunteers from all walks of life who are looking to learn, practice their skills, or earn community service hours. As a non-profit organization, volunteer hours put in at our facility count toward school credit as well as court-mandated community service. Expanding the Vision:
We are looking to expand our facility in order to accommodate more dogs as well as additional equines. We are looking to build kennel space that includes indoor training and play areas, as well as a vet suite, for our dogs and a barn expansion in order to house more equines. Your monetary donations or donations of materials or services will go a long way toward making a difference in the lives of neglected and abused animals. The adoption process:
If you are interested in adopting an animal from Orion Triple R, please feel free to contact us to set up an interview. There is a small adoption fee that varies with each animal as well as a service charge for the first year of ownership. The service charge covers our continued interest in the animal and additional advisement, education, consultation, and training for the period of transition into your home. We will touch base with you via home visits, off-site visits, or phone or skype conference to make sure your new family member is adjusting well. Our goal is to interact with you and your rescue animal to make sure that you and your family are a balanced pack. Our dog whisperers will come to you! In addition, if your animal needs continued medical services, such as injections or IV fluids, we will provide the continued service (though we cannot provide medications) for a small fee. While we care greatly for our animals and put in the time and love to rehabilitate each one, our ultimate goal at Orion Triple R is to light the path to you.
