🎉Finally time for the recap!
National Dressage Pony Cup was a first for Team Elevation this year. We've been talking about it for a couple years now and finally stuck to our guns and made the drive out to WEC Ohio!
Despite the heat and humidity we had a blast and the horses showed very well.
Katie and Sookie competed at 3rd level Fri and Sat, earning a 64% in both tests. Earning 3rd in AA on Friday and 1st for the AA on Saturday!
Aaannnndddd....drum roll.....
🎊They were first place Third Level AA Small horse CHAMPIONS!!! And to top it off they were also the #1 Paint of the whole show!
Woohoo! The cow pony was kicking ass!
Nicki also rode Lori Lori Kay Brown 's Duarte GAF at Training level both Fri and Sat.
Not to be outdone by his barn mate, Artie scored a 71% in Training 2 and Training 3 on Friday, earning second and first place!
And on Saturday earned a 69% in Training 3 for 5th.
We were all competing on Team Straightforward Elevation and while our team did not place, we managed an average overall score between our riders of 67%! Not too shabby!
We also brought along show pony extrordinare FCF Midnight Encounter ( Victoria Gabrielle Carson) for one of our team mates to catch ride. Frankie was the consummate professional and helped our team by earning a 67% on Fri in T-2 and a 68% on Sat for 6th place on his T-3 class!
Overall we walked more than 30 miles around the show grounds over 3.5 days! 😱 Next time we are taking the bikes!
We found everyone at the NDPC to be welcoming and accommodating. They served us meals 3 times over the weekend and had a raucous awards ceremony Saturday night!
Team Elevation will be back and we highly suggest this show for anyone that has been on the fence!
As always, thanks to our sponsors for keeping us saddled in Bates Saddles and LubriSyn HA Family of Products for keeping us loose!
