I don’t think Iguanas are on the menu at Outback Steakhouse. I was happy to help get it out after it snuck in through the back door to the kitchen.

I am so happy that this Hawk was able to fully recover and be released back into the wild. Now, just stay away from US-1.

Pigeon Control project in Marathon…. The pigeons were roosting on top of these A.C. units, they were defecating all over them. The pigeons were also roosting behind the units, there was f***s and feathers all over the lines in the back of the units as well as the air inlets potentially causing a serious health risk the the tenants. I installed Optical Gel Discs to keep the pigeons away. Thanks to Honus Hicks owner of HydroClean Of The Florida Keys for doing an amazing job cleaning the A.C. units, and all the areas covered in pigeon droppings.

Today, I successfully rescued a pair of orphaned raccoons on Big Pine Key, who had been abandoned by their mother. It is probable that a male raccoon had chased the female away, but was unable to access the babies. As is commonly known, male raccoons frequently kill baby raccoons in order to mate with the female. I had to open up the structure to retrieve one of the babies, while the other was on the ground. Fortunately, I was able to reach them just in time. Otherwise, they could have potentially perished like one of their siblings had already. I brought them immediately to Critter Litters on Big Pine Key so they can get the care they need.

It’s easy shut your lights off, especially here in the Florida Keys, it’s good for wildlife, prevents termites from swarming to your house, and it’s great for star gazing!!!!!

SO MANY BIRDS! It's likely more than one billion birds will take flight after dark this week, heading southward for the winter. The pattern aloft will be particularly favorable into the second half of the week, offering birds a tailwind that will help save precious energy. Speaking of energy, you can help by making sure your bird feeders are stocked up.

Consider turning off all unnecessary light sources at night. Lights can confuse and disorient these flocks, leading to collisions. Believe it or not, birds actually use stars to help guide them. They prefer the darkness!

I'd like to share this idea, as it has significant implications. Light pollution is a substantial problem for wildlife, particularly locally, where bright lights attract newly hatched sea turtles, causing them to head towards homes instead of the ocean. Also, bright lights affect migrating birds, and constant nighttime lighting can attract termites to homes.
