My message from this Sunday is titled
"HE BROUGHT US OUT TO BRING US IN"

Deuteronomy 6:23 Then He brought us out from there, that He might bring us in, to give us the land of which He swore to our fathers”

He brought us out, to bring us in! We are the church; the called out ones. The church started on the Day of Pentecost.
The Greek word for “Church” is Ekklesia meaning (The “called out” ones). And we might be familiar with that term… but we should come to be as familiar with another name for the church which we are called to be a part of.....
The er'-khom-ahee.. (The “Called In” ones)
Deuteronomy is clear on this, “Then He brought us out “The Ekklesia” that He might bring us in, “The Er’khom-ahee” … This is and has always been His intention towards us…If God had His way, you would never be left out of any of His blessings!
The greatest witness and assurance that you and I have, concerning what God has in store for us, is the reality of what He has brought us out of!!!!!

A prosperous man was making a long journey. In his bags he packed much of his valuables, jewels and money. A thief started to follow him, pretending to be a friend, and waiting for the opportunity to steal the wealthy man’s riches. The rich man was aware of the man’s motives and thought of a plan. Each night as he would stop at a local hotel he would invite the thief to share the room. Once inside the rich man would say, “Here is a towel. You go and wash up for the night.” While the thief took /*his shower the rich man hid his treasures.
When the thief returned to the room, the rich man would go and shower. While away, the thief searched frantically for the riches. He looked in the rich man’s luggage, searched the closet, drawers, under the bed, between the mattresses, and under the rich man’s pillow. He went through the room thoroughly, The treasure could not be found.
At the end of the journey, the rich man got ready to board a train to go home. He called out to the thief, “I know why you have been following me. You’ve been trying to steal my treasures. Each night you have looked in my bags, searched the closet, rummaged through the drawers. You’ve looked under my bed, between the mattress, and even under my pillow. The one place you never looked was in your own luggage, but each night, while you slept, I returned my treasures to my luggage. The treasure was closer than you ever thought!”
The forecast of our future is closer and more predictable than we think…because the place we came out of, should accurately point to the place He’s taking us into!!! The blessings are always closer than we could imagine, for He has placed them inside of us, in plain sight.... Scripture say it is "Christ in me the hope of glory"....
He is a loving, compassionate, and giving God…
Luke 18:29 And He said unto them, I say unto you, There is no man that has walked away from… (“ekklesia”..called out ones) houses, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake, 30 Who shall not receive (The Er’khom-ahee” the called into ones) many times more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.
When Moses was told by God to go into Egypt and bring the Hebrew people out of bo***ge… Moses’ first response was based on his insufficiency, inexperience, and incapacity. He had come out, but he had never come into the reason God brought him out….Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
God is telling Moses who it is that is bringing him in…. He is saying that… •He is the God of the generations.
•He is the God of the eternal present. (Your future is His present)
•He is “I AM THAT I AM.” from the Hebrew “Yahweh” or “Jehovah.” This expression indicates eternal, unceasing, non-stop action.
•Inbuilt in the title or the name is the promise of the presence of God being with His people on a daily, unending basis.
•God is present everywhere, and He is absent from nowhere.
•God is eternally self-existent, and eternally self-sufficient. He is more than enough in Himself…
He is God in my past protecting me.
He is God in my present leading me.
He is God in my future, preparing for me to arrive, and when He speaks to me about my future, He speaks from my future where He is, into my present where He also is!!!!
God is before His people (Micah 2:13).
•God is behind His people (Psalm 139:5).
•God is above His people (Deuteronomy 33:12).
•God is beneath His people (Isaiah 40:11).
•God is around His people (Psalm 125:2).
•God is with His people (Matthew 1:23).
•God is in the midst of His people (Isaiah 12:6).
•God is in His people (1 Corinthians 3:16).

My biggest problem with AA, is that they brainwash folks to confess that they never get beyond the “I am an alcoholic” stage! NO, I am a new creature in Christ, old things are passed away, behold all things are made new! God’s word is the best Psychology! I have come out so I can go in….
I am Er’khom-ahee, not just …Ekklesia! HE BROUGHT ME OUT TO BRING ME IN!!! I don't have to dwell on the past...
(I realize that we must deal with the old carnal flesh, but that’s part of the upward process, the process of building self discipline, Character, and integrity. I am under construction, but I am NOW (not will be) a new creature in Christ! Our experience is developing to match our position because God sees it as now done!

The Psalmist David pondered this issue….. Psalms 139:1-12 “O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my every thought when far away. You chart the path ahead of me and tell me where to stop and rest. Every moment you know where I am. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD. You both precede and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to know! I can never escape from your spirit! I can never get away from your presence! No matter where I am, your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me.

They have now come out with a Personal Promise Bible. You can have your name inserted throughout the scripture, and then you can read YOUR NAME, personalized, in over 5,000 places in the New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs, wherever God makes a promise to His people. (HOW ENCOURAGING IS THAT!)

Here are a few examples:
(Psalms 91:1) “If (Your name) dwells in the secret place of the Most High, (Your name)will rest in the shadow of the Almighty”
(2 Peter 1:4) “He has granted to (Your name) His precious and exceedingly great promises..” (Psalm 23:1) “The Lord is (Your name’s) shepherd. So (Your name) shall not want”
You may never own a Personal Promise Bible but you can still insert your name into every promise God intended for mankind. Because every promise is personal.
Promises come in all kinds of categories. But, basically there are only two types: conditional and unconditional.
Most promises are conditional. God says, “I’ll do this if you do that!” The conditions must be met in order for the promise to be fulfilled. God waits on us to do our part, so He can do His part in these conditional promises. (example)
2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”.

Ned, met a girl named Peggy. They fell in love, he promised her that he would give her diamonds, furs, and beautiful dresses. (and the women say, yeah, I’ve heard that)
They got engaged and as they were walked down 5th Avenue in New York, they came upon a jewelry store. Peggy looked at Ned and said,"You promised me diamonds." Ned proceeded to pick up a nearby brick. He threw it through the window, pulled out a diamond necklace and gave her.
As they strolled further down 5th Avenue, they came upon a fur shop. Peggy looked at Ned and said, "You promised me furs."
Ned picked up another brick, threw it through the window, pulled out a mink stole and gave it to Peggy.
Strolling further down 5th Avenue again, they came upon a fashion store with beautiful dresses. Peggy said, "You promised me beautiful clothes."
Ned replied, "What do you think I am made of…… bricks?" …(now, that’s conditional)
I can make you a promise and not be able to keep it, (but, God will never do that) He doesn’t need bricks, He owns everything! And He needs nothing I have, but I need everything He has!
Now, Unconditional promises are completely without conditions. God will do it no matter what we do or don’t do. Nothing can stop it. (example)
Acts 1:11 “This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven”. (No one could stop that)
Acts 2:17 “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh”. (The devil and religion tried but they couldn’t stop that)

Some promises combine both conditional and unconditional…..(example)
Luke 24:49 “And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high”.
The unconditional part of this promise is that the Holy Spirit was to be sent. The condition was they had to wait in Jerusalem to receive it.

Thank God, The “Great I Am’ has Called Us Out to bring us in… We are both Ecclesia and Er'-khom-ahee, but there are conditions which we must meet in order to come into the place He wants to bring us.. How many times have I said to people, “God loves you just as you are…but He loves you enough not to leave you there”!!!! He wants to bring you in….

He has Called Us Out of Sin and Into Salvation (The Greek word for salvation, is “Sozo”, which is redeemed, whole, complete, entire, and victorious!
1 Timothy 1:15-16 “Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save (Sozo) sinners-of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life (Sozo)”.
Saying that you’re a Christian while you’re living a lifestyle of sin, is like a person running in circles and calling themselves a planet…. Saying it, must be coupled together with the reality of obedience to what God has said. It’s conditional, and there’s God’s part (Sozo) and your part, believing and receiving. It’s not that complicated!
Speaking of complicated….
A psychiatrist was visiting his new patient, at the ward.."How did you come to be here, and what is the nature of your illness?" He asked… The patient replied….
"Well, it all started when I got married. You see, I married a widow with a grown daughter who then became my stepdaughter. My daddy came to visit us, fell in love with my lovely stepdaughter, then married her. So my stepdaughter was now my stepmother. Soon, my wife had a son who was, of course, my daddy's brother-in-law since he is the half-brother of my stepdaughter, who is now, of course, my daddy's wife. So, as I told you, when my stepdaughter married my daddy, she was at once my
stepmother! Now, since my new son is brother to my stepmother, he also became
my uncle. As you know, my wife is my step-grandmother since she is my stepmother's mother. Don't forget that my stepmother is my stepdaughter. Remember, too, that I am my wife's grandson. But hold on just a few minutes more. You see, since I'm married to my step-grandmother, I am not only the wife's grandson and her hubby, but I am also my own grandfather. Now can you understand how I got put in this place?"

Well, thankfully, salvation is much less complicated….”believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved!” (God has no step children, grandchildren, or step grandchildren, only children!)

Thank God He Has Brought Us Out of Death and Into Life
Romans 6:12-13 “Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life”.

When I was a young pastor, a problem came up in the church, and I consulted one of the prayer warriors, (my beautiful wife is definitely my prayer warrior, but I went to another lady, who knew all about everyone in the church) I explained the situation and she stomped her foot down hard on the floor, and said, “Reverend, you may think that you are too young, but God has put you here to lead this church… and sometimes you just have to put your foot down!” I’m talking to someone who needs to put your foot down when it comes to the devil! Put your foot down to everything that would keep you from entering in!
You have been given life, but the devil wants to kill your dreams, your call from God, and destroy the ministry God has called you to… and you’ve got to put your foot down… and say ENOUGH!... NO MORE!
Joshua 1:3 “Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, I have given it unto you…..” But you need to put your foot down!
Psalm 110:1 “The Lord says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.”
Luke 10:19 “Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you”.
Put your foot down on, the devil and all his works
Put your foot down in possessing what God said you could have
Put your foot down when it comes to winning your family to Christ
Put your foot down when it comes to the house of God
Put your foot down when it comes to giving God His tithe
Put your foot down when it comes to not compromising what you believe
Put your foot down when it comes to your healing
The lady with the issue of blood for twelve years had to put her foot down and press through to Jesus to receive her miracle healing….

He Has Brought Us Out Of Darkness And Into Light (why go back to where you prayed your way out of?)
1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people reserved for My purposes. That you should show forth My praises, for I have called you out of darkness into My marvelous light”.
In Genesis, God said “Let there be Light” and nothing dared disobey Him… and light was!....When Jesus came, he said “I am the light of the world” and no darkness could overwhelm Him, because he burst through the darkness of a tomb and rose triumphant in the blinding light of resurrection… It was so bright, it imprinted a photographic image upon the shroud that wrapped around Him…. Then he moved it to the next level and said “You are the light of the world” so don’t hide your light…let it shine! It’s time to put your foot down and hit the light switch! (Tell someone… “LET IT SHINE”)
Years ago, when our children were small, we visited some caverns. We were led down into the depths of the cave. When we were deep inside, we came to an enormous open room they called the ballroom. It was about 5 times the size of this room. The guides asked everyone to sit down and rest for a while. When everyone was seated, the main guide gave a signal and someone shut off all the lights.
Suddenly the room became totally dark. The guide talked for a while, about how this was absolute darkness. We were so far down in the cave that no light could get in, and no matter how much our eyes tried to adapt there was no light. This was complete and utter darkness.
Then he struck a regular, kitchen match and held it over his head. That tiny flickering flame lit up that whole, enormous room.
That one small flame was able to brighten the entire ballroom. For me that was an example of the power of light. In a huge, dark room, even one small flame was able to eliminate the darkness that filled the entire chamber that was totally black.
•We have this treasure of LIGHT in us… We are children of the light…

Mabie Babcock wrote…. Better to lose your count while naming your blessings than to lose your blessings while you count your troubles. ~
Norman Vincent Peale wrote… Think positively about yourself and others….By asking the God who made you to keep on making you.

The Great I Am, Has Brought Us Out Of Bo***ge And Into Deliverance
Deuteronomy 7:8-9 “Because the LORD loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He has sworn unto your fathers, The LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of the bondmen…. Know therefore that the LORD your God, is the faithful God, which keeps His promises and gives mercy to those that love Him and keep His commandments to a thousand generations”.

God brought His people out of the house of bo***ge through His mighty hand and powerful acts. And He is still delivering and bringing people out right now, today. Be set free, be the Erkh-om-ahee!

Dick and Margaret Hill were missionaries in a place caught up by a civil war. Their story is told in a book entitled, Steel in His Soul. Dick developed a sickness and had to be admitted into the hospital. It was at the very worse time possible.
Margaret was sad as she watched her husband leave. Soon an army officer came with news. The enemy was near. Everyone should evacuate. Margaret and her two children could not leave. She stayed. She prayed. Early the next morning she ripped a page from her wall calendar. It contained a Scripture: Psalms 56:3 “What time I am afraid, I will trust in You”
The town emptied during the day, but Margaret couldn’t leave. The next morning she again ripped a page from her calendar. The new day’s Scripture read: Psalms 9:10 “You, Oh Lord will not forsaken them that seek You” .
The next day when she awoke, she heard distant sounds of gunfire. She worried about finding food for her hungry children. Someone came with a basket of eggs. Another person brought milk. The calendar verse for the day,
was Genesis 50:21 “I will nourish you and your little ones”.
The sounds of gunfire and explosions grew louder and stronger and Margaret prayed for protection and deliverance. The next morning she tore the page from her calendar. It read: “Psalms 56:9 When I cry unto You, then shall my enemies shall be turned back” .
The fighting grew even worse. That night Margaret could not sleep. Danger was close. But, in the morning all was calm. The army officer returned and knocked on her door. He told her in amazement, “The enemy has retreated. It’s unbelievable, we’re not sure what happened!” No one could understand it. Peace returned. Margaret glanced at her calendar and praised the God that keeps His promises on a daily basis. Who brings us out to bring us in.

He Has Brought Us Out Of Fear To Bring us Into Faith
Deuteronomy 20:1 “WHEN YOU go forth to battle against your enemies and see horses and chariots and an army greater than your own, do not be afraid of them, for the Lord your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt, is with you.
v2 And when you come near to the battle, the priest shall approach and speak to the men, v3 And shall say to them, Hear, O Israel, you draw near this day to battle against your enemies. Let not your [minds and] hearts faint; fear not, and do not tremble or be terrified [and in dread] because of them. v4 For the Lord your God is He Who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies and to save you”.
We have been Emancipated….We have been set free from Satan’s bo***ge & control.
Nicole, was anxious for Easter to come. She had picked out a new dress and her mom had given her a new Easter bonnet. As her dad stopped at a store to buy her a new pair of shoes to go with her outfit, she once again said, 'I can't wait for Easter, Daddy!' Her dad asked her, 'Do you know what Easter means, honey?' She replied, 'Yes.' 'Well what does Easter mean?' In her own sweet three-year-old way, with arms raised, a smile on her face, and at the top of her voice she said. 'Surprise!'….
The resurrection Surprise, means freedom…. Freedom from worry, freedom from the past, freedom from the fear of tomorrow and freedom from fear of the unknown..
Jeremiah 29:11 God is committed to your victory, that you may reach your expected end. Sometimes we need night vision, in order to see in the darkness what God has promised in the light….
He Has Brought Us Out Of Despair And Into Rejoicing and Praise.. He’s there when we have That sinking feeling, when everything is up in the air and nothing has landed yet!
Isaiah 61:3 “appoint unto those that mourn, beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for sorrow, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness”….
Jeremiah 31:13 simply says…..”He turns our despair into joy”…..
It seems like every time David was faced with trouble in his life, he would sit down and write a song….
If you’ve never experienced a love gone badly, you will never understand the depths of a love song….
If you’ve never had the blues, you will never understand the depths of a blues song….
I’ve learned that in life, whenever God gets ready to bless you, you can always count on the devil to send something or somebody to try to put out the light inside you, and stomp out your inspiration…and tear up your contract of hope. Depression, weariness and despair is one of the ways he consistently does that…
WHEN YOU’RE GOING THROUGH THE TRIALS OF LIFE.
WHEN LIFE’S CIRCUMSTANCES HAVE GOT YOU SINGING THE BLUES.
WHEN YOU’RE IN A DITCH WITHOUT A LADDER.
WHEN YOUR BILLS ARE DUE AND FEAR IS CHASING YOU LIKE A BLOODHOUND…
The good news is that when you’ve experienced that….you know how wonderful the light is when it comes… If you have known the depths of despair, you will know how amazing the joy is when it comes… and you’ll hold on tenaciously to it!
If it’s true that misery loves company, then it’s true that joy loves to dance!!!!
t is when David realized that the transformation he needs is not outside, but within himself, that things begin to turn around!....
HE MAY STILL FEEL THE DESPAIR – BUT HE KNOWS INSIDE, HE’S BEEN DELIVERED.
HE’S MAY STILL STRUGGLE – BUT NOW, HE’S SINGING ABOVE THE STRUGGLE.
HE’S MAY STILL BE SEARCHING– BUT NOW HIS SPIRITUAL GPS IS LOCKING IN.
IN OTHER WORDS: IT’S TIME TO ENTER IN!”
David says….Psalms 30:11-31:1 “You have turned my mourning into dancing. You have put off my sackcloth and girded me with gladness, To the end that my tongue and my heart and everything glorious within me may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever” (AND O, MAN, HE MEANS IT)

He Has ELEVATED Us FROM Earth’s DOMINION And Into Heaven’s DOMINION!
Ephesians1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ…
Ephesians 2:6 And He has raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

We’ve been called out to be called up! The Song says it so well…. He brought me out of the miry clay, He set my feet on the Rock to stay; He puts a song in my soul today, A song of praise, hallelujah! Look at the words to this old song of the church…. “My heart was distressed ’neath Jehovah’s dread frown, and low in the pit where my sins dragged me down; I cried to the Lord from the deep miry clay, Who tenderly brought me out to golden day”. He brought me out of the miry clay, He set my feet on the Rock to stay, He puts a song in my soul today, A song of praise, hallelujah!

What God has done, will cast a glorious light on what He is planning to do!
Sometimes we dwell on the negative impact others may have had and perhaps are having on us rather than focusing on the positive impact that we are called by God to have on them? Let’s be careful, that dwelling on other people’s negative actions and behavior, doesn’t change our priority in being a positive force for God….. Others may take the low road but we are instructed to take the high road….He has called us up!!
THE SENILITY PRAYER says….Grant me just enough memory to forget why I don’t like the people I never liked anyway, The good fortune to never forget the ones I do, and good enough eyesight to tell the difference.
The bible says it this way…
2 Corinthians 9:8-10, “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: "He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; His righteousness endures forever."
God is able to make all grace (referring to God’s spiritual and material provision) abound to you.
We touch God by Faith, He touches us by the Anointing…
Have you been healed…. Share God’s healing power with others “freely you have received, freely give” Have your needs been met…. Share with someone else, to meet their needs…. Let me take this to another level… whatever you are believing for, sow into that, “For whatsoever a man sows, THAT shall he also reap” Sow downward, into those who have less than you, for health and spiritual blessing… Sow upward, into those who have more than you for wealth and prosperity.
HE brought us out, so He could bring us in! So, come on in!! His grace is enough!

“Positioning Ourselves For Grace And Favor”…
Let’s begin with some American trivia, since this is the weekend approaching the 4th of July, which is coming up in a few days….
In 1893, Katharine Lee Bates took a train trip to Colorado and the scenes she saw from the train window inspired her to write the poem which we know as “America the Beautiful”. It was not put to music till 1910 by Samuel A. Ward who was organist at the Episcopal church. It was in competition for the national anthem, until Herbert Hoover made “The star spangled banner” our national anthem. The chorus attributes our existence, prosperity, and global presence, to God’s grace…. “America, America, God shed His grace on thee, and crowned thy good with brotherhood, from sea to shining sea”….
I want to revisit the topic of grace and favor, and we will open with some scriptures about God’s favor…in light of the theme of the great Americana anthem and it’s emphasis on grace which has brought this great country to where it is in the world community…
Let’s begin with Genesis 39:21 And the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
It says when it was time to leave Egypt, in Exodus 12:36 the LORD gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they gave unto them such things as they required (for the wilderness) and they spoiled the Egyptians.
Psalms 5:12 For You, LORD, will bless the righteous; with favor and You will surround him about, as with a shield.
-God’s Grace is about receiving everything that we never deserved… it is initiated by God and flows out of His great love for those He has created for Himself, who, in themselves could never be good enough, righteous enough, or deserving enough…
We all need to come to the truth that…..
Our sin is never greater than His Grace
Our mistakes are never greater than His Favor
Our stupidity is never greater than His Love
Our entire past is never greater than His Power!
God doesn’t need anything we have, but we need everything God has!
2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for You, for my strength (let’s say, “Favor”) is made perfect in your weakness….
We have all had moments in our lives when because of our attitude, our small thinking, or predispositions, we could easily miss the grace and favor of God….
After Pearl Harbor, a Japanese lady was stranded late one night at a fashionable resort, one that was not very favorable towards the Japanese. The Japanese were treated horribly, in this country because of the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. So, the desk clerk looked down at his book and said, "Sorry, no room. The hotel is full." The lady said, "But your sign out front says that you have vacancies."
The desk clerk stammered a bit and then said curtly, "I’m sorry, but we do not admit those of your race. Now if you will try the other side of town..."
The little lady straightened herself and standing tall, she said, "I'll have you know I have converted to Christianity and I am an American citizen."
The desk clerk said, "Oh, yeah, well, let me give you a little test. How was Jesus born?" She replied, "He was born to a virgin named Mary in a little town called Bethlehem."
"Very good," replied the hotel clerk. "Tell me more." She replied, "He was born in a manger."…"That's right," said the hotel clerk. "And why was he born in a manger?" The little lady said as loudly as she could, "Because a weasel like you, in the hotel like this, wouldn't give a stranded woman, a room for the night!" (Well, she got the room, because the boss heard it all!)
How like that desk clerk, in Bethlehem, who turned away the messiah of the world, we can miss the favor of God, and never even realize we missed a glorious opportunity to walk in His grace…
We need to know, Life will never take you where Grace and Favor cannot find you, if you seek first the kingdom and His righteousness….
Supposed there was a gate that you absolutely had to go through to fulfill your destiny. But there are two powerful angels that guard the gate. And without their help there is no way you can get through the gate….
We can consider favor as access to the open door or “opportunity” and grace as the “ability” or authorization to get the job done once you’ve gone through the open door.
Many folks are praying for grace when they need favor, the open door of opportunity… (That’s when you have the gifting and skills to do the job, but no opportunity to act on it). In the same manner, many have been given an opportunity but they fall short at accomplishing what they’ve been called to do. This is where you need grace. Grace is God's ability resting on you, to do what you could not do, in and by yourself.
"There is no limit to what God’s Favor, when combined with His Grace, can accomplish in and through our life!"
Grace is spelled, “God’s riches at Christ’s Expense..G.R.A.C.E….
Whenever Jesus showed up….opportunity for the impossible to become possible, showed up with Him…. the door was flung open to miracles, signs and wonders… and Grace allowed men and women of every color, race, position and status, to walk through those open doors!
The bible says that everywhere Jesus went, He was doing good… (walking through open doors of favor with the abilities that were flowing from God’s grace). Everywhere He went, He released favor and grace…
In Zechariah 4:6-7 we read the powerful verses "Not by might, not by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts."…"Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain (a level place) and He shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shouting’s, crying grace, grace unto it."
In the time of Ezra and Nehemiah, Favor had already been given to the two captive tribes of Israelites by the Persian kings. The king released them from their captivity and that was their open door. It allowed them to go back to rebuild the temple. The only problem was the amount of resistance coming against them by the enemies from the north.
(as seen in the book of Ezra). They were discouraged. The job was not getting done.
The mountain that Zerubbabel mentioned was the pile of rubble that once was the old temple. He declared it leveled and out of the way so the new one could be built. He
didn't shout favor to it because favor was already given, he shouted grace, grace.
The Lord knew his people couldn't do it without His help, and His ability coming on
them.
We can see the difference between grace and favor quite clearly in the life of Joseph. Even in the midst of pain and heartache favor was given to him at every turn. Once the favor (or opportunity) was given Joseph, he then operated in the ability or (grace) to accomplish God’s purpose for him.
Most every book in the new testament has some form of the statement “grace to you or upon you or grace be with you.” It isn’t just a nice greeting or salutation,
Oh, no. The writers of the New Testament, knew that the people of God, needed God's grace, his (ability), in order to accomplish what they could never do in themselves.
There are some people who just can’t handle grace…. I am told that Fred Smith was out taking his afternoon walk, after recovering from a massive heart attack. The phone rang, and his wife Delores answered. It was Reader’s digest, informing her that Fred had won the sweepstakes for 1 and a half million dollars! She was ecstatic. Now all her dreams could come true. But then she remembered that the doctor said Fred could have no excitement over anything, or it could trigger another attack. She called her pastor and told him the situation. He agreed to come over and help deal with it. So, he was there when Fred got home. They were in the den having a nice chat, when the pastor leaned over and said, Bob, I have a problem, and I need your advice. “Sure pastor, I’d be glad to help’, said Bob. “I have a question, let’s say, someone won 1 and ½ million dollars, let’s say in theory it was you… How would you handle all that money?” Oh, that’s easy, Bob replied. “I would start by giving $750,000.00 to the church.” Immediately, the pastor had a heart attack and dropped dead! It’s clear that he did not understand grace and favor!!!
Some people cannot handle grace!
If we want to walk in the favor and grace of God, we must recognize the opportunity, that is given to us!
Thank God that His love is around us, His Grace is upon us, and His Favor is moving out in front of us, to open doors for us! Expect it, expect it!!
Solomon wrote, in Proverbs 12:2 A good man obtains (to cause, to acquire, to get) the favor of the LORD….
(in the original language, the world good, is teh-abe' or “favored”) It sounds like double speak… but a favored man, is actually a man who places value on the favor of God…so he orders his life in God’s precepts…. Daniel prayed 3 times a day….Hannah, was in the temple continually in prayer….David was called a man after God’s own heart….Abraham, Moses, Elijah, and many others, were known for their prayer life…. And they were highly favored of the Lord.
This indicates that there are things we can do to “obtain” and to remain walking in God’s favor!
1. It’s about Salvation….Psalms 106:4 Remember me, O LORD, with the favor that You bring unto your people: O visit me with thy salvation. (God brings about the opportunity through favor, then gives the ability through Grace, that we might even be saved, and receive the inheritance of the redeemed) Salvation puts you over into Grace and favor, like peanut butter on Jelly toast!
2. It’s about the abiding presence of God…. Moses said, in Exodus 33:13 Now therefore, I pray, if I have found favor in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You, that I may find grace in Your sight: and consider that this nation is Your people. v.14 And he said, My presence shall go with You, and I will give you rest. v.15 And he said unto Him, If Your presence does not go with me, then do not ask that I go. (Moses knew that grace operated best in the place of favor).
3. It’s about being a blessing in the lives of others… Genesis 18:3 And Abraham said, My Lord, if now I have found favor (given the opportunity) in your sight, do not depart, v.4 but, let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, to wash your feet, and rest yourselves here in the shade. v.5 And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and so comfort your hearts, and after that you shall pass on, since you have given this opportunity to your servant. And they said, So do, as you have said. (Abraham was given opportunity to minister to angels as he seized the favor given to him to minister in grace).
4. It’s about the fingerprints of God on our lives…. 1Samuel 3:19 And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and let none of his words fall to the ground. v.20 And all Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the LORD. (every one of us have the finger print of God etched on our lives… it’s important to find out how your calling and gifting have predisposed and predestined your life for favor and grace. There’s no mistaking a fingerprint…And when God is recognized, He gets all the credit… you can see His fingerprint.
Jesus said, in John 14:3 I go and prepare a place for you, and I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also. (The grace gifts in our lives will make a place for us as God’s favor opens the doors of opportunity)
5. It’s about personal refreshing…..Proverbs 16:15 In the light of the king's countenance is life; and his favor is as a refreshing cloud of the latter rain. 19:12….The king's favor is as dew which settles upon the grass. (the word refresh “ep-ee-mel'-i-ah” is to guard, maintain and protect your joy) It tells us that we can miss the favor of God by becoming guilt ridden, grouchy, self-centered- and throwing a big pity party) GUARD YOUR JOY, so you don’t miss His favor! Say it with me….EPEE-MEL-IAH!
Grace and favor are so much like the story that is titled “Acres Of Diamonds”….
A certain farmer had tried many years to grow crops on his land he had bought, he but failed each year. One day he was walking around his land and found a large rock that he thought was very beautiful. He brought it home and put it on the shelf. A visitor happened to notice the pretty rock, and examined it, discovering that it was a large diamond, encrusted with dirt, and it turned out to be one of the largest and most valuable in the world.
He asked the farmer where he found it, and they ended up finding numerous diamonds in the same stream. It became the richest diamond mine in all of South Africa, and the owner didn’t know what he had, but it was right under his nose, all the time….(now that’s some grace and favor)! The biblical year of Jubilee, is about grace and favor. It is more than a certain time frame of 7 years… or 50 years in the case of the great Jubilee,… it is a period of time where God’s special favor, and God’s special grace is available to mankind….In Jesus, it is God’s declaration that it is always the right time and the right place for a new day and a new start, through His grace and favor.
Look with me today, at 10 Blessings that come with God’s FAVOR, (His open doors, and opportunities) found throughout the bible…What God has done for others, He is willing to do for you… God does not play favorites…..Seek and you will find….
1. Favor produces supernatural promotion and increase Gen 39:21 And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; while he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. v.3 And Potipher saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.)
2. Favor brings restoration of what the enemy has stolen….
Exodus 3:20 And I will stretch out my hand, with all my wonders which I will do in the midst of Egypt, that he may let you go. v.21 And I will give my people favor in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when you go, you shall not go empty v.22 You shall leave with the spoils of Egypt, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and you shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters.
3. Favor brings honor in the face of the adversary… Exodus 11:3 And the LORD gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. So that the man Moses was greatly revered in the land of Egypt, in the eyes of Pharaoh's servants, and in the sight of all the people..
4. Favor produces an increase in your assets.. Deuteronomy 33:23 And the Lord spoke through Moses concerning Naphtali and said, “Be satisfied with favor, and be full with the blessings of the LORD: You shall possess that which is from the west and towards the south and be increased.
5. Favor gives great and unusual victories even against impossible odds… Joshua 6:20 So the people shouted as the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
6. Favor gives recognition and promotion even when you seem like the least likely one to receive it…. At 85 years of age, we hear from Caleb…
Joshua 14:11 I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in. v.12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for we heard in that day how the Anaikim, a nation of giants, were there,
and the cities were great and fenced: if the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said. v.13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh, Hebron for an inheritance. (favor is no respecter of age)
7. Favor produces prominence and preferential treatment… Esther 7:2 And the king said unto Esther, “what is your petition, queen Esther? and it shall be granted you and it shall be performed, even to the half of the kingdom.
v.3 Then Esther the queen answered and said, My Lord, If I have found favor in your sight, O king, and if it please you, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request. v.9 And one of the maids said “Behold also, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman has made for Mordecai, who has served and done only good for the king, stands in the house of Haman. Then the king said, Hang him upon his own gallows.
8. Favor will give access to the highest court of heaven…. Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 12:2 We look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand (place of favor) at the throne of God.
9. Favor will change rules, regulations, even laws if necessary to your advantage….
Daniel 2:21 For He changes the times and the seasons: He removes kings, and sets up kings: He gives wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: v.22 He reveals the deep and secret things: He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him….
10. Favor wins battles you did not even have to fight because God will fight them for you…
Jeremiah 15:20 And I will make you to be unto this people as a strong fence and a brazen wall: and they shall fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you, for I am with You to save you and to deliver you, says the LORD v.21 And I will deliver you out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem you out of the hand of the destroyer.
The book of Luke, in chapter 5:1-7, Peter had fished all night and couldn’t catch a single fish, He and the others with him were tired, discouraged and down- right frustrated. They were throwing in the towel, washing and mending the nets, so they could go home….and Jesus showed up… Jesus told them something they probably didn’t want to hear, because their minds were set on calling it quits. He said “go back out a little ways, and try again”… I can almost hear the groans and complaining”, but thank God they said… “Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net”. The big difference was, that favor and grace showed up… Favor presented a new opportunity, and grace provided the ability to do what they hadn’t been able to do before! And His name is Jesus! He’s the way maker who’ll make a way for you!
