Stray Dog Support is a non-profit 501(c)3 dedicated to help saving and improving the lives of defenseless and vulnerable street dogs around the world. We focus on providing financial support to those living local to the dogs who are dedicated to helping these animals, typically using their own very limited resources. We work to provide financial support to these local rescuers who often go without food and basic needs in order to help these at-risk dogs. We also help facilitate transport of these street pups internationally as well as provide emergency medical care, spay and neuter programs and vaccination programs. Stray Dog relies on donations and sponsorship to not only provide food and medicine for the dogs, but also to give them love, confidence and dignity.
Please help us in our mission – the street dogs of the world are counting on us! Stray Dog has no paid employees and no overhead costs so you can be assured 100% of your donation goes to improving the circumstances of street dogs around the world.
Founded by Helen Summerfield-Brown in 2018, Stray Dog Support’s main mission is to raise awareness of the issues facing street dogs around the world, and to provide financial support for those who help with their care.
During her time volunteering to help at-risk animals, Helen saw the plight of dogs forced to live in the streets of India and Thailand, and recognized their inhumane treatment and unsafe conditions that drove her to establish Stray Dog Support. Stray Dog is solely operated and run by Helen and while it is a very small rescue, it is trying to make an impact globally.
She now dedicates her life working with a few like-minded rescuers to give these vulnerable dogs a better life, and has successfully placed more than 70 dogs in U.S. and Canadian homes with the help of a local rescue group where she also volunteers and fosters.
In addition to her work with Stray Dog Support, Helen also volunteers with an animal search and rescue group, as well as sponsors multiple dogs throughout the world. She has seven beautiful dogs of her own, including three special needs dogs rescued from the streets of India, as well as one from Thailand. Her dream is to build a shelter for animals that specializes in working with disabled dogs and those with special needs.
