We wanted to give a shoutout to everyone here at the daycare who chipped in for our donation drive. Between the LD family, our friends, and others in our community, the response to our first drive was honestly incredible.

It was encouraging enough (plus made us realize we could do even more) that Becca and I started a separate page called The Cat Queue (TCQ) to organize future donation drives. While our name focuses on cats, we also plan to support mixed-species rescues that don’t receive the same recognition and support as larger/better known organizations.

We’re sharing our first TCQ post below if you’d like to see everything we were able to collect. (I’ll be posting future charity updates there as well.)

Thanks to everyone who chipped in, we were able to collect 75+ cans of kitten food, 70 pounds of litter, 35+ pounds of dry food, treats, cleaning supplies, and plenty of other essentials!
(And then I melted trying to get it all packed into the car!)

🚨🚨 𝗖𝗢𝗗𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗗! 𝙒𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙣𝙤𝙬! 🚨🚨 Cincinnati Animal CARE is nearing 𝟵𝟬𝟬 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝘀 in care, and across both shelter locations, there are only 𝟭𝟱 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗴 𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹𝘀 remaining.

Our small dog room is 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭.
Our puppy room is 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭.
Our cat room is 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭.

Right now, we're caring for 𝟴𝟳𝟴 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝘀, including 𝟰𝟱𝟵 𝗱𝗼𝗴𝘀 and 𝟯𝟵𝟴 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝘀. Over the last 30 days alone, we've taken in 𝟵𝟭𝟮 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝘀, and intake continues to outpace placements.

Summer is one of the hardest times of year for animal shelters. Families travel, routines change, and adoptions slow down. But animals don't stop needing help.

The good news? 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦!!!
