I got Scrapped!!! as in Scraps were flung my way - Oh my Stars - do you know how happy my heart is with all of these??? I had fun sorting them and dreaming of what I am going to make!!!

That is - After the Machine Quilting is done for the day ;-)

I still have a few openings in May for Pantograph or all Over Quilting - Message me or Email or Send up a smoke signal ( Okay maybe not the last one - no fires are needed haha)

We had snow yesterday , and it's cold this morning ( like hat and gloves cold )

I think it's my fault - I quilted a customers Christmas Quilt .

But !!! It's a beautiful one ❄️❄️🌨️🌨️

I was able to get this Quilt Quilted up this week - Isn't it a pretty cool little piece of Cheater fabric?

It looks so realistic!

And so simple to add borders too. It will be going to Hospice for a Veteran in their care.

Our Quilts of Valor sew group made a lot of scrappy log cabins ... with 1 1/2 inch strips ! Oh my !!

I got this top put together with them 🙂

What is your favorite size scrap to work with ?

Today , I dug into my scrap bin for 25 minutes and cut up a ton of 5 inch squares for a sew day .... but there's a lot left to cut up !

Yellow was the rainbow color for March - my March recap / one buckeye beauty top with the complementary color to yellow 🙂

Oh My gosh!! IT IS FRIDAY - where did Tuesday -Thursday go? we have had a lot of wind - not like those who had tornados - but do you think it blew those days away??

I did get a finish in!!

I got to my February Rainbow Scrap Challenge - Buckeyes with a Twist!!

We had had Pat Speth come ( via zoom) and do a guild presentation. She had talked about turning blocks different ways for different looks, so of course! when February RSC started I had to try it - so I rearranged the Blue Buckeye components and Bam!! made something else....

Then!!! I started playing with the border, and I wanted to figure out a way to continue the circle like part of the block... so this is what I came up with 😉

I quilted it with some windy swirly swirls - just because I think the wind has been blowing here for 17 batrillion hours, so it must have weaseled its way into my brain!

And now - it is Done, it is bound, the Girls approved, and !! It is on the back of my couch awaiting its fate ( we don't know what that is yet)

My Yellow Diamond Chains:

Yellow!!!!

The color of ENERGY... okay - I am claiming it - the sun is out almost 12 hours a day, the grass is starting to grow, the animals are so happy.... lets say its all due to that Big Yellow Sun!!!

Which also means, I have more energy to stitch!!! Yellow is our RSC color for March, and I looked up all the colors that go with it - PURPLE is yellows Complementary color - and I had Purple - so!!

I had so much fun figuring out how to do a border on my February quilt , that I thought - I wonder what I can do with this one. and you know what??

I like it! What is your favorite color to pair with Yellow?

This Is my January Rainbow Scrap Challenge quilt

I decided to play with color and it was fun 🤪🤪

I used all the colorways - the Complementary ( green) , the Triad ( Light blue and Yellow) , the Monochrome, ( Pink) and then!!

We decided that it looked like confetti.

and then - my son said - that looks like EASTER EXPLODED - so I had ... I just absolutely had to quilt EASTER EGGS on it.

Yellow is the Rainbow Scrap Color for March - so I dug thru the trusty bin and found some yellow strips to start playing with.

I also googled Yellow, There is a lot of *stuff* about yellow, some of it not so nice.... but since I prefer a positive spin I kept searching and found this about the color:

Yellow elicits feelings of hope, positivity, enthusiasm, and self-assurance. It has a psychological relationship with cheerful outlooks and confidence in achieving success. Yellow evokes uplifting emotions and optimistic perspectives psychologically.

And it also counteracts sluggishness... which ( in my world) that is why it was chosen this month, as we all are dealing with Spring Forward!!!

This is an 1860's Log Cabin Quilt and I am in love with it!!!

This was a find by Deb!!! She found a bag of blocks in a Basement and they needed a LOT of work!!

She hand washed each one, and re-stitched the ones that were coming apart. then She set them in this setting!

its amazing!!

I was discussing it with my friend K and then I talked with Deb too - we haven't seen a Log Cabin this old with half squares as the center block. I am sure they were there - but just not documented. Have you seen one?

Truly - its just lovely!!!

And that Cheddar - Swoon worthy!!! I like how the maker kept the cheddar rows consistent - In my opinion it draws the quilt together!!

I did have to give it back, but I put a caveat on the invoice - if she ever doesn't love it anymore... call me first!!!
