💕 Our Story: It All Started with Jeremy

Every great story begins with love — and ours started with a brave little dog named Jeremy. Jeremy was a brown Dachshund/Boykin Spaniel mix from Staley, NC, rescued by a Sheriff’s deputy (also named Jeremy) and brought to Happy Hills Animal Foundation after suffering severe injuries. To honor his hero, we kept his name. It took time for him to heal, but through it all, Jeremy’s sweet spirit and gratitude inspired something special. Before the well-known issues with chicken jerky treats made overseas, I (Jennifer) used to give Jeremy and my other dog, Jasmine, popular chicken jerky strips — the same brand that would later make headlines. I began noticing both dogs getting sick after eating them. Once I realized the connection — and that they were made in China — I stopped immediately and started making my own safe, homemade treats. Those first batches were made with love, using simple, wholesome ingredients — and they were a hit! Friends and family started asking for treats for their pets, too. That’s when Pawlee’s was born: from one dog’s story, a mother’s care, and a desire to help other pets live happy, healthy lives. So, Deputy Jeremy, wherever you are — thank you for saving our sweet boy. ❤️

✨ A little update from me and Cammie! 🐾

Today was another exciting day of progress! We gave the light fixtures from our downtown store a fresh new look to match our new color scheme, and they’ll be ready to hang tomorrow. 🤍

The electricians are hard at work, and we’re hoping the dog wash will be wrapped up within the next week or so. Every day brings us one step closer!

Our goal is to have everything completed and be ready to welcome everyone back through our doors within the next month or two. We know it’s been a long journey, and we truly appreciate your patience, encouragement, and support along the way.

We can’t wait to share the finished space with you all—we’re getting so close, and we’re incredibly excited about how everything is coming together!

Just wanted to share a little update on our store! We’re hoping to be open within the next couple of months. We were finally issued our renovation permits last week, so things are officially moving forward!

We still have a few big projects to complete, including electrical work, installing the dog wash, and finishing the floors, but the ball is finally rolling and we couldn’t be more excited.

In the meantime, you can still order all of our bakery goodies, including cakes, cupcakes, and treats. Orders can be placed online or by giving us a call, and pickup is available at our bakery location.

We do ask that you please call ahead or place your order online whenever possible so our staff can be prepared. We’ve had a few customers stop by unexpectedly when no one was available to assist with checkout, and we want to make sure everyone receives the best service possible.

We often have premade cakes and cupcakes available for grab-and-go purchases, but if you’d like something custom, please give us a call so we can create something special for you.

Thank you all so much for your patience, support, and encouragement. We can’t wait to welcome everyone into the new store soon! ❤️🐾

Hi everyone! While we’re still waiting on the store renovations due to waiting on permits from TOK we have our freezer stocked with these adorable cupcakes decorated by our sweet cake decorator, Kennedy. Our cakes will be restocked also and she is in the process of working on those for the weekend. Links to these cupcakes are below. Please order these on our website in advance for customer pick up at our bakery just in case there’s no one here that knows how to operate our POS system to ring you up. That way you can just take and go if you pay in advance. If there is any particular color combination or topper that you see that you want specifically, please put it in the order notes or give us a call ASAP. These cupcakes shown are our standard size cupcakes, but we will have minis as well. 🤗
