An Important Update from Young Paws Cat Rescue & Sanctuary:
We want to share a transparent update with our community.
Young Paws is not closing. What is happening is a thoughtful pause and realignment.
When we started this journey, our hearts were in the right place—but we moved faster than our physical space and financial reality could support. Sometimes what we deeply want to do and what we’re realistically able to do doesn't line up (yet). That was the case for both Bart and me.
So this year, we’re refocusing.
Our sole priority is the several rescue cats already in our care—getting them healthy, safe, loved, adopted into permanent homes. These cats matter, and they deserve our full attention and stability. Because of this, we will not be accepting any new intakes at this time.
At the same time, we’re working quietly and intentionally on building a stronger foundation for Young Paws’ future. That includes planning for a larger, appropriate space (not a small apartment), improved systems, and long-term sustainability—so when we grow again, we do it the right way.
This isn’t an ending. It’s a pause to build something stronger, healthier, and more sustainable—for the cats and for the humans caring for them.
Thank you for your understanding, your compassion, and your continued support. We’re still here. We’re just doing this with intention and care—for the long haul. 🐾
