Every day is bring your dog to work day at Pezzy but yesterday was even more special for me and Kaya.

Summer Springboard at UC Berkeley invited me to share my experience at Pezzy with their middle school entrepreneur students and I brought Kaya along to chat all things fish, pet treats and life as a small business owner.

Kaya was pooped after an afternoon of treats and never-ending playtime

We partner directly with affected fishers from the US, Mexico and Central America and set them up to turn over abundant invasive species into single ingredient treats that pets love. We don’t source our proteins from some giant behemoth. We buy directly from folks like Willie, Francisco and Juan Carlos.

Our treats are great for pets, people and the planet as a whole. Pretty cool eh?

Recently I met with the Tech Tigers, a team of amazing young US students designing a submersible robot to hunt Lionfish!

Lionfish live amongst the nooks and crannies in coral reefs, making fishing them by net impossible. They don’t bite bait and hook either, meaning we have to spear each one individually while scuba diving.

This is costly and tough to scale AND there’s many Lionfish too deep for us to dive to. We’re stoked to support these young students in coming up with a way to make Lionfish hunting more efficient. They’ll be heading to Australia in a couple weeks to present their robot!!

I originally put this together as a cheeky update to the ongoing tariff stupidity. I recently heard that Wall Street has coined their new trading strategy T.A.C.O. or Trump Always Chickens Out - buy the dip when Trump announces some new reckless tariff policy and reap the rewards when he inevitably backs off and reverses course.

His tariff wars are going as well as just about all of us imagined - as of this writing not a single trade deal has been signed with
