This past Saturday all of our dogs were blessed as part of the Kensett United Methodist Church 's annual Blessing of the Animals Event. The church was also kind enough to raise some money for our dogs. Here are some pictures from the day.

Thank you to the church for blessing our dogs. We know it will go a long way in helping them get a loving home and a happy life.

Do you remember this pretty girl Sandi?

Sandi has a very interested adopter in New Jersey who has been waiting for her patiently for the past 4 months to complete her heartworm treatment. Because of your donations we were able to get her treated. She was tested again yesterday and guess what, she was NEGATIVE!

Which means she can go to Jersey to live her best life. However to get there she needs a health certificate and buy a ticket on the doggy bus. Would you be able to donate and make this trip possible? Her health certificate will cost $125 and bus ticket is $165.

Our volunteers Lori Privitt and Gina Riddle is working on the logistics. Please donate on their Venmo - or -xoxo-23 or Paypal and help Sandi get home

A few weeks back many of us celebrated Mother's day. Howver this momma was given a bad hand.

Many of you must have seen her in lost and found group where people reported this momma and her babies looking lost and surviving. Somehow this mom and her family landed up within Kensett city limits and our ACO picked her and 3 puppies first. As you can see from the first picture she looks worried and sad as if something was missing. The ACO went again to the same spot the next day and after digging a bit it turns out this momma had 3 more puppies who were hidden. Look at how happy she is once they were found (second picture). Momma was named Roseanne and her kids were named Darlene, Rebecca, Deejay, Buck, Jake & Brandi. 3 girls and 3 boys. We believe they are all mountain curr mixes. Momma Roseanne seems to be 2 years old while puppies are around 2 months old. As you can see in the third picture Momma Roseanne is tired taking care of these many pups by herself . We need the community's help here. As an outdoor shelter with limited resources, we rely on donations to help our dogs. Outdoor shelters are especially not the greatest spot for puppies to grow. We need fosters and we need donations. This is how you can help.

1) Foster a dog - We will provide you with all the supplies. Apply to foster at www.shelterdogsofark.com/kensett - The puppies have been weaned and can live separately

2) Donate in kind from our amazon wishlist. Our primary need right now are flea and tick, dewormers and shampoos and puppy food. You can check out our wishlist at https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2VBN38826SO78?ref_=wl_share

3) Monetary donations for vet visits which include vaccines, tests and medications. Please call Searcy Animal Clinic and donate to the shelter fund. Every dollar is appreciated.

Adoptable Franklin is here to wish you all an amazing week ahead and apply to adopt him so that you get to see his gorgeous smile for the rest of your life

Franklin is just about 3 months old and has been living at the ACO's house after a resident reported him abandoned. She says he is picking up crate training, house training, leash training while getting a lot of sleep and yummy treats. He loves to play with his foster siblings and in between take cozy cuddles with them. He has a big personality and would love to be with a family that is active.

Apply to adopt him at www.shelterdogsofark.com/kensett. Adoption fees include the cost of vaccines (Rabies, DAPP, Bordatella), neutering and microchipping

A rescue up north is very interested in pulling Heidi, however they need some one local to foster for a month or two while she gets ready for her trip up north. Hear from a volunteer who visited two weeks back about their impression of Heidi and why you should foster her!

Apply to foster at www.shelterdogsofark.com/kensett

Prevention is better than cure! Heartworm is prevalent in all 50 states in the US including Arkansas! Give your dogs heartworm prevention!

Heartworm disease is a serious — but preventable — disease spread by mosquitoes that can affect dogs of all ages 🦟🐶❤️

Once infected, heartworms live in the heart, lungs, and blood vessels, causing severe damage that can become life-threatening. The good news? Monthly heartworm prevention is safe, effective, and much easier (and less expensive) than treatment!

Here in the South, mosquitoes are everywhere, which means year-round prevention is so important for protecting your pets.

Protect your best friend before heartworms become a problem. Stop by our vaccine clinic for heartworm prevention and keep your pup happy and healthy all year long! 🐾

🚨We do require a heartworm test within 30 days before starting prevention. If your dog is not current on a test, we offer one for $12 (plus $10 office visit) at our clinic.

We’re open until 4:30pm and closed between 1-2 for lunch! 🙂

Meet the most adorable peanut named Franklin.

He is just about 3 months old, lab mix, 15 lbs and was found as a stray with no mama in sight. Our ACO immediately decided to foster him right away so that he could safely heal and grow and be strong. At home she discovered to have a very big and adorable personality. He is food motivated, great with other dogs and loves playing with toys. He is also equally affectionate and loves his nap times (especially if next to his foster siblings under the table).

If you would like to adopt him please apply at www.shelterdogsofark.com/kensett

Adoption fee covers the cost of vaccinations, microchip and neuter surgery.
