Having rescues who haven't been introduced to oral care like tooth bushing can make incorporating this habit quite challenging. I have tried all sorts of products and really like the water additive I use but am always searching for something I can use to actually brush off build up. So many products have scents and flavors that my dogs do not find enticing. I'm happy to say that they don't immediately run when they see me pull these out! I just slip them on my finger and these thin and flexible "brushes" allow me to feel around their teeth while applying gentle pressure with results I could see the very first time I used them! I just wanted to pass the info on because I've been looking for something like this for a long time.

Chronic pain in humans is influenced not just by the disease but by biological, clinical, psychological and socio-demographic factors.

Translating this to companion animals - their own anatomy and physiology, their current and previous trauma as well as co-morbidities, where and how they live, their previous experiences and emotional resilience are likely to influence their perception of their pain.

We have so much to learn…but we are also finding ways to best manage it.

Murray said "Where has this been my whole life?"
Our first session felt like we have been working together for years! He immediately settled in and enjoyed both the massage and cold laser therapy. His mom has done a great job of keeping him at an ideal weight for his bull dog joints, I was shocked to learn he is 9 years old! I'm happy to be able to help keep him flexible and relieve some tension in his bowed elbows and knees and he especially liked the laser on his lower back and hips. He even smiled for a pic, which I'm told is rare!

LASER therapy provides a non-invasive, pain-free, surgery-free and drug-free treatment that is used to treat a variety of conditions, and can be performed in conjunction with existing treatments. LASER treatments are an excellent way to provide pain relief to your canine companion. LASER therapy reduces pain by reducing inflammation through vasodilation (the opening of blood vessels) and also by activating the lymphatic drainage system, thus draining swollen areas. The result is a reduction in swelling which reduces pain. The LASER also stimulates nerve cells that block pain signals from being transmitted to the brain, thereby decreasing nerve sensitivity. I think it's safe to say that Bambi enjoyed her first session with me! Her mom is so excited to be able to provide her with some drug free pain relief for her arthritis and together we created a plan that includes regular visits from me! Keeping dogs mobile and comfortable is my passion!

I received an awesome message from a client. I worked the day of the 4th and provided some CBD for some pups who are terrified of fireworks. Some soothing tones, affirmations of safety and an extra relaxing massage, along with my special blend of CBD and CBG seemed to do the trick! I love hearing these kinds of stories!

Hank had his first full length session with me and any questions of whether he would enjoy it or not were quickly answered by the way he pushed into my hands, groaned and rolled his hips out. With every pass of my hands he released built up tension and anxiety and would turn his head and look at me like "Seriously?! How have I never felt this before!" I swear that by the end he was an inch taller and 3 inches longer! I can't wait to see how he progresses now that he joins his sister in my regular schedule!

Happy 3rd Birthday Doug!!! Working with Doug has been such a privilege and joy. He was 8 months old when I started seeing him and I've been able to see just how much of a difference regular bodywork started at a young age can make in a dog of his stature. His vet even commented on how well he behaved during an exam of his sprained ankle a few months ago. Seeing his face light up with excitement when I walk through the door and how he looks at me with adoration during his massage can turn any bad day right again. I'm so thankful his parents trust Pike Creek Pets to be a part of his care team.
