Hello everyone! This is a copy of the Brochure (flyer) that the Dog Advisory Committee distributes to Hotels, Inns, Campgrounds and businesses about the expectations of dogs and owners when on the Kennebunk Beaches. Please read and share. Thank you.
The wide, sandy beaches in Kennebunk have always been favorite spots for dogs and their owners – wonderful places for dogs to romp, play and swim.
Please share our appreciation of these beautiful natural resources by being responsible dog owners.

To keep the Kennebunk beaches safe and welcoming to all, we call your attention to the following Beach Ordinances:
• Dogs are allowed on beaches:
o June 15 to the day after Labor Day – before 9 AM and after 5PM
o The day after Labor Day to June 15 – all day
• Dogs must be under voice control or owners must have them on leashes
• Owners must pick up after dogs
• Fines…up to $250
Bag dispensers and trash containers are located at each beach entrance.
Please…
• Have a leash at hand at all times.
• Be sensitive to early morning noise (barking dogs, car doors slamming, load conversation) and considerate of nearby residents
Have your leash ready to control your dog and be especially watchful when:
• it’s high tide
• the beach is crowded
• little children are playing
• another dog is walked on leash
• sleeping sunbathers are nearby
• families are picnicking
• there are unsteady beach walkers
