Long video of Denali
He learned to come to the mounting block so I'm using that cue here to get him working thru his fear of seeing someone on top of him and seeing me from his other eye (flexing him to the opposite side to help him see me and realize he's OK) he's not going into full blown panic mode any more. He had some obvious trauma with riding in his past , so its taking some time to get to a point of having enough control on the ground to feel ready to start working towards him seeing someone on top of him again and realize it'll all be OK. Also working through physical issues as well, but he seems to still have a good attitude and progresses a little each day 🥰

Also, personally I always feel safest starting ba****ck on the more challenging horses (ones that have had tramatic training /riding experince) , gives me a quick easy way to dismount and not tet stuck up there . 99% of the time i start youngins in a saddle and 99% of the time i start the ones like him, ba****ck, with the most success bc I don't get thrown off and loose confidence, I slip off and continue onward like nothing happened. Its always worked for me and so I go with my gut and I imagine you'll see us riding ba****ck before long , as long as hes able to stay in work 💜

He can bolt and be gone in a heart beat and its his go to move with stress on ground or stress of seeing someone on him, bolt then buck you off , so we have spent a good amount of time on ground work teaching him to think thru things and take bolting off the table for him , so its exciting to see him working thru a challenge without leaving me completely behind ❤️ hes been a lot of fun and hes just adorable !

Thankful for Shianne Clemens helping me get horses worked before extreme heat hit , we got a lot done , lots of great sessions 🥰 gabby got horses groomed and braided (pictured is tango) 🩷 thankful for all the help from gabby Madison kylie and shianne . This week's been a hard one with a loss in the family but they've helped tremendously with everything around the farm. Can't thank yall enough 💜

Here are aome clips of Denali from a few different days . These clips show Denali thinking , bending , softening, relaxing , problem solving on his own and man is he doing good . The first clip is from yesterday with the flag , hes not taking the heat well and unsure about a possible abcess so we are on pause from working too much until vet sees him today . But, hes progressing nicely and we have even started working on bringing his energy up and still having control and a brain and bringing it back down , but recently with not knowing whats going on we have just done real slow work . Hoping for good news about him today so we can continue forward 🙏

Learning all sorts of manuevers and balance in the arena and totally fun, here are some clips of our 1st time taking her on trails (shes been a trail horse and been to field trials and judged off of)
Shes more go than whoa and a lot of fun, would do amazing on long rides , maybe some gaited dressage , shes becoming quite a joy to work in the arena and fun on trails , we have been addressing some anxiety and herd bound issues since she arrived but with the right rider after her time here , shes gonna be outstanding and fun bc ahe already is !

Got pacey in the open field but its just our first time out since working with her and thrilled with how well she is doing , and smooth no matter what gait she chooses 😅

Someone's got potentially an abcess so have to wait for vet this week and see whats going on .
And freedom wore a bit today , tomorrow we will start bridle work from the ground , hes riding in thr rope hackamore so nicely :)
