We've had more rain and thunder in the past 10 minutes than we did on Tuesday, when Tropical Storm Edouard was supposed to come through. I adjusted my schedule and route to start earlier and avoid a neighborhood that floods that day, for nothing here.
But it makes sense it would rain today, when I get to see my girl Olive, because this girl loves a good roll in the mud as soon as she gets groomed! 😂

This dog is missing from South Shore, but there have been sightings of a Malinois in The Meadows and around the High School and people are saying he looks exhausted and thirsty.
The post I saw said he is a foster and doesn't not know his name yet, but he likes raw meat and bacon.

Our latest rescue mission looked a little different than usual.
I was leaving Cloudy's house and saw this tiny heron on the curb, soaking wet. I'm assuming it fell out of it's nest during the storms today. I couldn't stop then, but started making calls and texts, then went back ASAP and it was in the same spot. It was so scared and defensive, and the twins were terrified of the screeching, but I got it.
Wildlife Center of Texas told me the parents won't come back if a baby falls out of the nest and since it was too young to fly, it needed to be brought in for rehab. They put me in contact with an amazing volunteer from League City to transport it to The Heights tomorrow. ❤️

All my food allergy families, you have to check out Faux-Moo Treats: Allergen Friendly Bakery!!!
She's in Texas City, but is starting to do markets in Webster.
I happened to see a post the other day and just picked up a dozen of some of the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had, AND they're top 9 free and vegan!!
Being vegan and free of the top 9, I didn't have high hopes for the taste, but as an allergy parent it's more about safety, and these blew me away!
She does dye free too, so no red 40 crash outs.

It's been a while since I've seen Miss Lady, but she didn't miss a beat. She was super happy to greet me at the door, then ran to the van and snuggled up as soon as we were settled. Her parents have lucked out with the most amazing pups over the years I've been blessed to groom for them.

It may only be 4 days after her groom, but waited patiently to see if I would come out to see her again.

Huge shout out to Classic L**e & Auto Repair on 518.
We've taken all of our vehicles to them for years, for oil changes, inspections and issues once our car got older, and they have always done a phenomenal job but they really saved me today!
The van started acting up and I was late to my first job today after having the codes read at an auto parts store. I rescheduled the rest of my day out of caution and it literally died as I was pulling into the driveway at Classic. I was stuck in the driveway and they told me it wasn't a big deal and they'd tow it to the back if they needed.
As I was drifting into the driveway with no power to anything and struggling to steer, a car drove past and laid on the horn. I thought it was because I had no blinker or break lights, but unbeknownst to me, it was a friend and her family saying "hi". 😂 I was so stressed and almost in tears and the crew reassured me they would take care of the van and they didn't think it was anything catastrophic (it was just some faulty sensors). 10/10 recommend
