I have had a few people ask me about the harnesa I got for our Maine C**n Bruce. This is the harness I got for Bruce since he is a slinky boy! The extra strap really made a difference!

We are not affiliated with this rescue, just saw this post, and we obviously have a soft spot for Maine C**ns having our Bruce who was rescued. Our Maine C**n Bruce was rescued from a shelter that caught him in a TNR trap. He was underweight and very scared when he first came in. We are pretty sure he was dumped by a breeder himself.

Any help that our followers can contribute, even if it is just sharing this post for the rescue, would be much appreciated!

Im NEVER going to say no when a breeder is in crisis and needs to shut down immediately because of family tragedy. I will step in and help and figure it out as I go because I know the cats need me. Such is the case with a breeder in Louisiana who reached out for help and was just going to release them onto her farm if she couldn't find a place for them. I wont release any names or cities but rest assured the breeding is done there.

My transporter just sent me this picture of the kitties on their way to me. There were supposed to be 4 but as we all know "cat math" - there are 5 in the crate. They do not look healthy to me - one looks pretty bad in particular. I don't know male or female, or ages for that matter. The paperwork is en route to me. I will post more info once I have them. They won't be available for adoption until I get them healthy and spayed/neutered with all vaccines.

If you find it in your heart to donate to my rescue to help these kitties, I would be forever grateful. I feel some hefty vet bills coming up and of course the cost of their surgeries. I appreciate your support so much!

IF YOU HAVE A CAT THAT HAS AN EAR TIP!!! MUST READ!!!

Dalton and his other ear tipped siblings got new calming breakaway collars this week!

There is a really good reason WHY we did this!

Although a lot of people DO know that cats in feral/community cat colonies that have an ear tip, have already been spayed/neutered and returned to their colony. A LARGE portion of society DOES NOT know, that just because a cat IS ear tipped, it DOES NOT mean they ALWAYS are feral/community cats without an owner.

A lot of cats in shelters get either mistaken for a feral/community cat when they come in and get ear tipped during their surgery before realizing they didn't belong with a colony and go up for regular adoption after it is known. Some cats also get prepared for "working cat programs" and are tipped for this reason. This is why having a collar on your ear tipped pet cats is so important! This ensures that people will think twice before they release them back where they were found (thinking they are just a feral cat apart of a colony). With a collar they will get checked for a microchip and be returned home if they ever do get out!

Working cats are cats that are adopted out to people that specifically need a cat for rodent control. These cats will primarily live outside and are chosen for various reasons to do this important job.

Dalton was actually placed on the working cat program when he was at the shelter. He had a lot of behavior issues when he was there and he would bite pretty hard when he would get over stimulated. This made him a risk to adopt out to the general public and the working cat program was his only chance at a home 😔... Until Luckily Dalton's dad fell in love with him at first sight when he met him after he heard his story! Daltons dad and mom are experienced cat owners that know how to handle a difficult cat.

Dalton now lives a life of pure comfort, and daily treats! We are very proud to say, that after his mom and dad worked with him on training, and (most importantly) Dalton had TIME to adjust to his new home, Dalton is a happy cat and has not bitten anyone in a very long time! He truly is a success story that proves, with the right owner and a little patience, all over stimulated cats can thrive! 😊.

IMPORTANT REMINDER:

Just because a cat acts one way in the shelter, does not mean that is who they are at home. It is extremely stressful for cats to leave their home and a shelter environment is EVEN MORE stressful.
